re: America in 2060...Tell me about it

Seriously, if I think back to 20 years ago, 1997, I was 19 years old. I recently got dial-up internet... AOL. People were still using beepers, etc.. From then until today, a lot has changed.

Not just technology, but society (which in many ways has changed because of technology). 9/11, the amount of mass shootings. And one that I think is one of the biggest, caused by technology. The fact that media is driven by number of clicks, which means it is more important for them to have a story that has a "clickable" heading than accurate information. People's fears are played on more than ever and that has created division.

Also, mother nature has played a factor into changing society. Look at hurricane Katrina alone. This is all within 20 years.. So to try to predict 43 years from now. Who knows. We could all each have clones we can turn on when we need to be in two places at once. The human and the robotic clone would be synced.. The day starts, the clone goes take care of what it is programed to do, the human does the normal schedule thing. In the evening, the human & robotic clone syncs up to share information so the human can know the results of whatever business the clone took care of and vice versa.

I don't know much about 2060....But I know there will be a paradigm shift in 2070.

Automation has replaced 50% of all jobs. Production is at an all time high but the number of consumers is at an all time low. Businesses are swallowed up by a handful of ultra large corporations.

With no customers to buy products, this group of a dozen or so uber tycoons shut down all businesses and re-employ their robots to make their own lives better.

Outside of this upper circle, the rest of mankind is deemed expendable. Ordinary people simply serve no purpose now. All but the most attractive are rounded up and exterminated by roving bands of robots in order to prevent an uprising. The most attractive 0.01% are taken prisoner and used to breed sex-slaves for the ultra-elite families.

With no one left on earth but a handful of ultra-wealthy families and their sex slaves, they send their hordes of robots to attack each other until only one family is left.
