Amazon removes options to sort customer reviews by Most Recent. (Edited)

Very disappointing. They obviously allow a lot of fake ratings that boost product star ratings, but you could usually figure how good a product was by changing the customer review to most recent and scan the first 10-20 reviews. Obviously Amazon figured they could sell a lot more sub par shite products by removing this option. Im considering canceling my membership as its now made insanely tough to distinguish product quality.
EDIT: At this time, seems to be a desktop change and you can still use it on mobile for now. So perhaps a beta test.
Were you a person who used this function, how do you see the ratings, and how will this affect you in the future. Feel free to opine with your own views.

Yes, Amazon has removed the ability to sort customer reviews by "Most Recent". Instead, you will see reviews in an order determined by Amazon, unless you choose to sort by rating. This change impacts how users can quickly see recent feedback on product quality or changes.

I was absolutely able to sort reviews by most recent.

Can both of you provide screen shots? One of y'all is FOS.

Sort by most recent is there on my phone in mobile view. In desktop view, I don't see that option but text is small and my eyes are old.

Working on my end. Maybe Amazon hates you!

That would suck as it's my go-to way of seeing how many reviews are fake.
I have noticed some product pages don't have the "recent" option on the main page and others do. But I get around this by going to the more dedicated review page. There you can sort by number of star reviews and recent/relevant.
This is all on desktop fyi. I wonder if sellers have the option of the "recent" reviews being on the main page?

It’s probably an update. When your phone updates its apps, you will probably not be able to search by most recent.
I rarely buy from amazon nowadays. Too much junk.

Glad to see the edit, but this would be a dealbreaker for me. It’s not the AI reviews that concern me; it’s that sellers will replace items in a listing, so you’ll have thousands of reviews that have nothing to do with the now-listed item.

Wow. That was the only way to see real reviews.

It always amazed me that you can leave a review about a seller or product but you can’t leave a review for the Amazon service!?? Why is that?

I’ve noticed that too. A LOT of knock off Chinese crap is what you typically see now for non-food or named item searches.

I never use Amazon reviews to determine what I am buying. If I am in Amazon, I have already done my research and am there to but. Nothing else.

I was able to sort by “most recent” on an iPad.

You can still see it on desktop. You just have to click the "see more reviews" button before it will let you sort.
