If you turn off your phone, you miss being woken at 3am with a state wide Amber alert for a child missing on the other side of the state.

I just have DND automatically turn on from 10 to 6.

I mean.....didn't yall just have some bad storms roll through at 4:00am this morning? Seems like this is a good way to get "blowed away".

I don't take my phone into the bedroom before I go to sleep put it charging in the livingroom. I used to have a TV too but we took it out of the bedroom. I sleep much better than I used too.

When I was still working for my old paper, I had to leave mine on, and answer it. Our production people sometimes called about ad layouts in the middle of the night. Now I leave the sound down all the time, unless I'm waiting for a doctor to call (old people problems).

I used to keep my phone one silent 24/7, until I started using my phone for work and had a child.
Can't say I've ever received a call in the middle of the night that wasn't an emergency.

No, i charge it and put it on Do Not Disturb but let it vibrate because once in a while I get a callout from work.

I used to. Then one day my mom was banging on my door at 2:00AM because her sister had just died and she couldn't reach me. Phone stays on now.
Never understood this, what difference does it make if you find out someone has died at 2:00AM vs 8:00AM. My mom died at around !:00Am, I let people sleep, and started calling at 8:00AM in the morning.

11 years ago, my mom called at 3am because my dad was dying. I got to the hospital before he died. I never would’ve forgiven myself if I missed that call. I put my phone on do not disturb at night, but have it set so my contacts can call. I don’t get any text or app alerts at night.

I get calls from work in the middle of the night occasionally so I have to leave mine on unfortunately.
My phone is also my alarm.
