They let it slide a lot, but 911 is for emergency calls.
If they were super busy, and especially after you identified it was not an emergency, they might have told you to call your local police and cut you off.
The point is they have limited lines/resources, and don’t want a legit emergency to get a busy tone.
If you got those texts and you saw someone creeping outside, sure call it.
But you are just at home chilling and mulling it over while talking it out on the internet

Yeah, well, when it's you being threatened you can choose to handle it however you want. frick you think I give a shite about how you think I should or should not have handled it? I asked the dispatcher what to do, after having explained the situation and describing it as not an emergency situation. They advised me to either come down to the station, or they'd send a patrol car to get a report. The two officers were way more understanding of my actions than some of y'all frickers sheesh.

I’ve had this happen a couple times over the years. He ain’t nothing but a tough talker and probably can’t fight for shite, I wouldn’t worry much about him. I got called out once by a really small guy( I’m kinda big I guess 6’3” 235 but also in my 50’s) he couldn’t have weighed 130lbs soaking wet. Anyway he’s taking shite at a gas station after I fired him earlier in the week so I start walking towards his little tatted( full sleeve and neck / face tattoo) he runs away. Tattoos are only ink don’t let that BS scare you
