I held my mother's hand as she died. I was the last face she saw before she closed her eyes for the last time. Even through the dementia, she knew who I was right up to the end. That was a blessing not everyone gets, and I'm grateful for it.
I was there when my mother died. I held her hand.

But we were fortunate in that my mother was pretty lucid until the very end in the hospital.

Good point

ETA: I still try to be cordial and give a small gift, like a framed picture of our daughter or something. It’s important for her to see how women should be treated.

True. I got a call from my sister and dad telling me I better hurry up and get over there. (Mom was doing hospice in home at my sister's house). By the time my wife and I got over there, she was already gone

They go on their own schedule. I sat with my grandmother until I had to leave for a little while to do some necessary chores. She died while I was away. We had a special bond and I fully believe she waited so I wouldn't have to see her die.

My mom fell into a coma 2 days before she died. I was there the last time she went to sleep though. It was my honor to be present for her in her last moments the way she was for me in every moment.

To all the mommas out there, thank you for your cervix.

I had to read that twice...

Good one! Wish I saw it yesterday in time to say to my mom.
