well god damn. In that version, it sounds like he's saying "Blane, he's going for the gun" But it's weird, like it's happening faster in that video. Not happening faster, but like the "he's going for the..." statement is rushed or clipped.

This shite si wild.

In the new video you can see one of the officers remove it from his right front pocket after the shooting occurs.

Yeah, that second video really only backs up the officer's statements. I don't know why people think this footage is damning. Even attorneys I know, very smart people, are getting riled up on Facebook, calling it an execution and that the officers should be tried for murder. I just don't see it at this point, and I highly doubt convenience store footage (which generally is of low grade quality because they are placed too far from faces/bodies) will provide the "smoking gun" (pun intended).

You can see the 2nd cop that's around his legs is struggling big time with him - still can't see what's going on with Sterlings right hand which is side of his pants they pulled the gun from.

yeah this is not as one-sided as the emotional reactors will make you think it is

still seems a bit harsh given the situation (control by the officers, etc)

it's for sure interesting and not cut and dry either way

How so? The video tape doesn't justify the shooting, but it is in line with the precious statements by LEO: they recovered the gun from him after the shooting.

The real question is:

Does Baton Rouge have the required fortitude to do a Baltimore / St Louis style riot when these guys get vindicated?

yeah hardly anything is ever as one-sided as the emotional reactors try to make it out to be, especially all of the ones you're friends with on social media who happen to be black and/or liberal and obviously can't be objective anymore

i've seen many of my "non-liberal" friends posting the guy's rap sheet, which is just as emotional-irraitonal

It looks like the cop that shot him sees he is going for a gun, is trying to stop his right arm from entering his right pocket and then shoots him in the chest.

I don't know how anyone can watch both videos and come to this conclusion. The second video in particular shows how much trouble he is giving the officers trying to control him. They don't even draw their guns until they think he goes for his and even then warn him not to move before finally shooting. As soon as the first shots are fired he throws the cops off of him, which leads to more shots.

There's a noticeable pause between the one yelling and the shots fired. In that couple seconds the officer in back is noticeably struggling with the guy.

Whatever was pulled from his pocket better be a gun or they are fricked. It's not clear to me what it is.

ETA: I think it probably was a gun, I'm just saying it better be cleanly logged into evidence.
