This video is a lot closer and clearer than the one on page 80. You see everything. Not sure if I should post but it's Que Dawg @Football_Animal.

Honestly if they wouldn't have fell half under the car I believe we aren't having this conversation and this would be no more than a write up in the arrests section. I believe they would have effectively detained him.

I'm listening to the agitators Claim that it won't end tonight, won't end tomorrow.

If they bring it to the streets of those in Baton Rouge who work they'll have hell to pay

He was intending to make sure safety was on so officers didn't hurt themselves retrieving it

Again, tackling a presumably armed suspect is not protocol . If it is, we would love to see documentation

You can't write protocol to cover every scenario. What you have is a use of force continuum. Officer can respond with one level higher of force than the suspect is using. Yes, the guy was armed but it was not in his hand and readily usable. Officers are in close quarters, trying to get him into custody and there are others around that are at risk of a shoot out occurs. At this point you go hands on and try to gain control of the guys hands to get him into custody and keep his hands away from his weapon. This works. I've done it. Problem is not every situation goes 100% as planned. A grip on a hand can slip, tactics and pressure points can fail, etc. Its a huge risk to officer safety but as many people on here love to point out, it's their job. It's something they signed up for.

Yet they do it all the time and people in threads just like this defend them all the time.

My point is that there is or should be a protocol that they're trained to follow. If they broke protocol they'll need to explain it. If they didn't then they'll have nothing to worry about, but people in this thread lose their shite if you even suggest the officers could have done something wrong.

If they roll up and there isn't a gun out (after being warned about one) I'd figure the best action is the approach the situation with caution and now have your weapon out. The taser was perfectly fine. The take down has been seen before and not anything new. They only drew when the gun was out.

I also read somewhere that even before the taser they had him against the hood of a car and he resisted (anyone else heard this?). Then the taser. Then the takedown. Then the struggle and gun shot.

Really? A situation where they don't even know if they person you are approaching is armed, and they roll up with guns drawn? I think you're making things up.

They shot a kid on a playground after rolling up in their vehicle guns drawn.

Every situation is different. Clearly, they didn't know he was armed when they rolled up. Cops don't automatically draw arms everytime the roll up. Do you get that?

They did know he was armed, or at least they should have. They responded to a call about a man fitting his exact description brandishing a weapon. There are 40 pages in this thread saying the cops knew Sterling in all likelihood too. The dispatch call specifically said the suspect had a gun in his pocket.

They may or may not have screwed up by tackling him, but it is a valid question.

You're making a definitive statement about what is and isn't protocol. Prove your claim or shut the frick up. I'm guessing you'll do neither though.

This one is closer and different angle than ones I've seen. I might have missed it previously posted though. But it gives clear view of everything

It's only a valid question to some because they can't question the actual shooting.
