Saginaw has a few Master Planned subdivisions going up. Here's one house:

edit: This is obviously the officer of the planner

Check out the west side of the tollway or what I call HP for proles. May be something in your range over there. I wouldn’t know though, don’t travel over to the hinterlands.

I love in Dallas and love it, but I wouldn't do that commute on a daily basis for a million dollars.

Just stay in Birmingham. I am by no means an expert, but did visit DFW for a week last summer. I had a decent time and did most of the touristy things but I could never live in either Dallas or Ft. Worth. Honestly, it’s ugly as shite there and you will really miss the scenery of B’ham. Also, the cost of living in Birmingham is light years better. Pro sports are a two hour drive away and you are centrally located to the mountains and the beach. If I were forced to live in either I would choose Ft. Worth. It was clean and seemed more like a place you live rather than visit.

My favorite Texas Metroplex is Walker-Texas Ranger, for the record.

So you know pretty much exactly zero about actually living there then?

Dallas is more your style, huh? The gay lifestyle is pretty rampant in Dallas. They don't call it the Big D for nothing. You should fit right in.

I did say I wasn’t an expert. Also, I don’t have to live there to know that it’s not a place I’d want to live. Plus, I live Birmingham and have a pretty good idea about how someone from Birmingham may feel.

Not saying this to be funny, but if you're new to the city, new to the job and commuted from Dallas to Ft. Worth? You would quit within the first 3 weeks. The commute would consume your every fiber... you would start drinking heavily and start pushing your wife against a wall. For starters. Then, it gets worse.

It’s absolutely retarded to even consider a 40-50 mike daily commute for an abstract reason like”Dallas is more my style.” You’ll be driving so much you won’t even notice the style of the city.

I was born and raised in Plano. Been around a long time. Live 20 miles south of Dallas. I try to stay south of I 20 all the time. Watched grandkids yesterday in argyle. Took 2:05 to get home. Live in ft worth. Don’t drive. Roam oak and argyle are good choices.

Now that I’m back to this thread. Commuting is a terrible idea. $110k ain’t enough to swing a good school district, and if you’re going to live in the burbs, may as well live in one closer to ft worth.

Second, pro sports teams are cool, but how often are you really going to attend that it would make it worthwhile to live in Dallas?

Hmmm, just live in fort worth and visit Dallas on the weekends. The traffic alone would make you crazy and want to quit your job. My husband used to commute at least 45 minutes from one end of dfw to the other. He hated it and never wanted to go out in Dallas because of that commute. I would think there's much to do in fort worth with TCU out there. Just sign a short term lease and try it out in fort worth. It may not be that bad.

Fort Worth is a great city in its own right. It would be pretty irrational to live in Dallas and travel to Fort Worth unless you have a very good reason to setup base in Dallas.

I love both cities but they are different and the vibes vary. Dallas has a different neighborhood for every life stage and it only keeps growing and offering more options. It’s a really exciting time to live in the metroplex.

Colleyville would be ideal since it’s nice and centrally located
