I want a new watch, and I've started looking at the Alpina line. Any experience with these?

Pretty meh. There are better options, but they make quality watches for the price.

Name some for $500-800. I'm trying to broaden my search a bit.

Slapping a literal turd of shite on your wrist would be a more attractive option

I just got an Oris Aquis. I would say it's not bad. Also an orient mako isn't bad for under $200. I like it better than the Aquis.

Hamilton and Tissot are my favorite in that price range. Just bought a Hamilton Khaki as a matter of fact.

Broke - not answering his cell - usually when watch conversations start - his images of a vintage Rolex will appear in the night sky facing north towards Baker and beyond. Will keep trying.

If you're into pilot style watches look at Laco, Sinn, Archimede, Stowa and Damasko to name some German brands. Germans do style better than Swiss IMO.

For the price I would get a nice Seiko. Even at $500 you'd be overpaying for that watch solely because it's swiss.

I like the ones with the stone faces.

Was thinking about this one for myself.
