Is the Tennessee game scheduled for late morning for safety? If enough games had to be scheduled for a safer time, would the loss in revenue to the business men of BR get their attention and force changes in policing?
Or will this be broken by stricter policing by going after the small crimes that these guys do in between their murders?
Delete your account ... you are not psychologically nor emotional prepared to use the internet.
P.S. rescheduled for the safety of the TV money.

Then they are making a crucial error. If you think we live in any world where in 10 years, BR will be a relatively safe place to live, you're absolutely insane. Let's say this crime doesn't galvanize anything. So then what is next? If LSU thinks it will just go away, violent criminals will become so emboldened, they'll fear nothing here.
LSU cannot exist for long in an environment where white people are afraid to go. It simply can't. How do the powers that be not understand this?

Is he though? I know y'all want to crucify a Tennessee fan for asking but I'm telling you, the divide between this version of Baton Rouge and it's nationwide perception isn't really that far off. Especially in a world where this crime is never solved, on a campus that doesn't seem to be that bothered by it, and in a city where the leaders are coming off as woefully inept.
What do you think the next mayor, police chief and DA of BR is going to be like? Assuming the trends continue like they are?

Kind of like how they are treating college football, they believe that the demand for their product will never end regardless of what they do, say or treat their customers.
LSU is living a bit of a lie right now, with enrollment and fundraising high after the 2019 championship, which all schools get that Natty boost.
If Baton Rouge continues on this path, enrollment will decline. It's not even a question.
Go check out the LSU parents Facebook group if you have any doubts. Those people are going crazy over this and they are from all over the country.

The reason for the game being changed is widely known and easily knowable. With all the talk here including sometimes extreme solutions i've never heard anyone here or anywhere suggest that the times of LSU games would be changed for public safety. There is literally an early SEC game every week for that last 30 years at least (did we play Tenn. early the last time they were here, the T-bob snap the ball at the end game). Suggestions that the game time might have been changed due to crime is IMO an unreasonable rumor mongering type thing to post.
Does Baton Rouge have a violent crime problem? Yes. Even more concerning is the trend right now towards an even worse crime problem in the future? Yes.

The media and corporate America are dead set on the false narrative that police are the problem.
Don't forget Joe's constant message about white supremacists and MAGA domestic terrorists!
There has never been a more obvious 3-pronged false narrative being pushed in the history of this nation, involving crime and criminals.

What you fail to understand is that parish leaders, the mayor, the Council, civic leaders, LSU, and all of the local hierarchy doesn’t seem concerned.
There’s no real accountability, no one is being pushed to change anything, and it’s all business as usual.
Heck, the people in SG voted to try and do better in their own and that election was nullified by the people in charge of the parish. Think out it, a duly constituted election was made null and void.
And they don’t care about public safety either. No one is safe. Not blacks, whites or anyone else. There is a bug shortage of cops, experienced cops and leadership. Gangs were once targeted have been left alone because the mayor believed it to be racist.
Money isn’t being spent where most needed. It’s going to social programs and not public safety. What good are parks, playgrounds and libraries if it’s not safe to use them.
And yes who wants to attend LSU if it’s not safe to leave campus and it’s not safe on campus after dark. But the leadership worries about trumpeting social issues while it becomes more and more unsafe.

These are not crazy people on Facebook bitching about Ukraine or global warming.
These are actual parents with actual students at LSU (it's a restricted group). These people have other children, and relatives and friends.
To chalk this up as some Karens on Facebook would be an error.

People are rightfully scared right now to go out after dark in BR, what's going to happen if there's no resolution to this and in 5 weeks we fall back where it gets dark at 5pm? The cover of darkness emboldens these animals even more on violent crimes of opportunity. If I'm an LSU parent, I have it in the back of mind that daylight savings time ends in just over a month and I'm having a new set of safety protocol for my child.

They had a gang assassination at high noon on Bluenonnet in front of the mall and another several months ago at high noon at Whataburger on Siegen.
There is no safety in the sunshine when these gangs go to war.

Crazy people who essentially fund LSU. But let's just cast them all in the crazy pile.
I'm sure it will be fine once all the "crazy" people who pay the bills stop paying them, right?

the hysterical posts you and Bjorn are posting about LSU need to stop. It's just not reality. What happened was absolutely tragic, but it's not going to bring down LSU.

Maybe a spree killer not serial killer. Serial killers have motives beyond just blasting somebody with 10 rounds and leaving

I wouldn't be too flippant about this problem- because it is a major problem. We are also starting to see more violent crime and attempted violent crime happen on the campus itself.
There is no way in Hades that trend continues and LSU comes out unscathed. I have zero faith that the ilk carrying out these crimes will suddenly become Christian Missionaries.

Agreed. And I can't think of one person I know afraid to go out after dark in frickin Baton Rouge lol

No one is being flippant, though some are exaggerating the affect Allie's horrible death will have on LSU enrollment. I still say that it will not materially affect enrollment. LSU has cameras all over campus and LSU police routinely patrol. It remains a safe campus to send your children, and my daughter goes to LSU.

So no way this will be a cold case then. Solve it FBI. If you can’t, how can we trust you to thwart off terrorism? You should by now be zeroing in on these thugs. The most hardened thug in BR, can’t take 2 mins of water boarding. Get it done.
