It always boggles my mind that we never have many of these incidents given the amount of people who swim in alligator infested waterways in LA.

I love my dog but if she's going up against a gator, the most I can do is wish her the best of luck, I'm not mixing it up with said gator.

I'm not from the state but have lived here the last 6 years. Whenever I'm at a friends camp and we talk about swimming, every single friend from Louisiana is always 100% confident an Alligator won't bother them.

There's a video of people recording their fricking Chihuahua anatagonizing gators. They laughed and thought it was so cute, until one gator baw got fed up and took the little thing in to the water. Now, I hate seeing dogs harmed in any way, but for that scenario I was pretty damn heartless. Don't let your pipsqueak frick with a gator, you dumb assholes.

I've been waiting for this to happen. My wife's family used to have a beach house there and there are 6-8 ft gators all over Hilton Head. You can ride bikes and see gators all over. It was just a matter of time with so many kids and tourists that they were going to have an incident.

When I got scuba qualified, we did some of our open water dives in a couple of different Florida springs. A guy in another group was cruising along and not making much headway, so he looked back and saw a small gator latched on to his fin. They said it was rare for them to bother divers.

No shite there. I'm surprised most people as well as myself didn't have any incidents.
