You, like everyone else, are interpreting the situation in a way that fits your preconceptions.
Maybe the video shows her consenting, or maybe it’s absolutely damning for the defense. Time will tell.

The defense is leaking all of their ammo to the media so clearly everything is slanted that way at this time.
They are trying to play chicken with the parents to get them to drop charges.
The prosecution has been playing their cards close to the vest and biding their time.
Given the parents are willing to go through with this I think it will be pretty clear once the trial is through.

The parents have very little sway in the case concerning whether the prosecution moves forward. It is different with a living alleged victim because without their cooperation the case would likely fall apart.

You do know the State (via the DA) asserts the charges, not the parents, right? Only the DA’s office can “drop the charges.” Now, that may happen when the victim decides they don’t want to cooperate in the proceeding, thus eliminating the likelihood the DA could prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt. But in this instance the victim is dead and the parents aren’t key witnesses because they weren’t there. So the parents won’t have much influence on the DA’s decision

Yeah I don’t think that’s what’s going on.
I do think they’re trying to swing the jury pool their way before the trial, which is why they had their hands slapped by the judge.
The larger point is accurate though - the prosecution has played it pretty close to the vest while the defense has been quick to leak evidence that looks good for them.
Personally I think the video voyeurism charge against Carver was Moore’s way of firing back to show the public that there’s more evidence we haven’t seen. But there’s no way of knowing how strong (or weak) that evidence may be until the trial.

Some people are blinded by emotion and make emotional snap decisions. Attorneys either innately or learned look at all sides and have to have a Devil's Advocate side to them. They often come across as contrarians but it is an integral part of their job. Thinking purely with emotion is bad for their business but a lot of people's lives move along fine giving in to emotion.

In fairness that is a non-sequitur since he was not talking about the media but specifically TD and their opinions and reactions often diverge.
