I'll be in San Marcos. if it rains, oh well. Never been to the area before.
Without actually seeing the eclipse, the effects are nonetheless impressive. The darkness is about the same as just after sunset. The mosquitos and night birds come out. It is really interesting to see the natural world react to the event.

I guess I'm the only person that couldn't give less of a shite about the eclipse?

My gf lives in San Marcos. It’s a great little town. I’ll be there to watch it with her, regardless of weather.

You have to prepare. It is an event and you might need to change locations based off weather.

i'm in Temple and a bit scared shitless of now due to the fearmongering about all the people that are going to be here. i have to drive to Houston Tuesday morning and they're saying i'll be fighting thousands of people leaving even at 5 AM.
i told my wife i'm buying alcohol and brisket and not leaving the house from Saturday to Tuesday.

Couldn't imagine going through life not giving a shite about the natural wonders of our universe.

I was in Columbia, SC in 2017 for the last eclipse. Columbia was smack in the path where you'd see the entire thing.
It was like Saturday college football crowds in terms of quantity of people....but on a Monday. I'd never seen such a diversity of license plates, they came from ALL over.

Baw, they've been coming in like you wouldn't believe from South America and Central America for the past few years.
