I would not consider myself a healthy eater, but one of the easier transitions to a healthier choice for me has been swapping out vegetable sticks and almonds for unhealthier snacks.

Carrots, bell pepper, and celery have a satisfying crunch and keep me occupied chewing so it feels like im eating something more substantial than I necessarily am.

I've been a grazer ever since I was a kid, so it's extremely necessary for me to not hit a bag of chips or some kind of candy once every hour.

Learning how to cook chicken so that it is moist and flavorful is also a major game-changer.

The human body wasn’t designed to be a herbivore.

1-We live off venison,if you don’t hunt buy grass fed beef(Expensive, might be cheaper than venison )
2-eleminate dairy(hard,I loved cheese)
3-minimal sugar (hard,I have a sweet tooth,I like sugar in my coffee)
4-eleminate processed meats(very hard,I loved bacon,ham,sausage)
5-vegetables ,we have garden-last night I ate large bowl shredded cabbage with olive oil
and vinegar
6-fruit daily
7-minimal simple carbs,we eat rice about once a month.spaghetti about twice a month.
8- fish we fry fish occasionally but we broil or grill more often.
My nephew spent 21/2 years in Rome(priest),he came back skinny as hell.He said Italians ate very little compared to Americans, entrees’ in restaraunt would qualify as appetizer here. They don’t deep fry, plate of pasta typically had no meat, just tomato sauce with herbs and mushrooms.

I eat a variation of meat, veggies, and rice or quinoa 4-5 times a week. Thought I would get tired of it, but this is going on about 3 years now. Theses enough options/combos to keep it from getting bland.

This is pretty much how I eat except I probably eat a lot less meat than you and I eat a ton of rice. Occasional venison, occasional fish. No dairy.

My point is there is nothing inherently healthy about the foods that the people around the Mediterranean eat.

Start the day with a grilled onion scrambled egg and cheese burrito on a low card tortilla wrap.

I weigh myself occasionally and cut back on junk food if the scale shows a bad number.

The only Mediterranean food that I would argue is inherently healthy would be olive oil.

But the Mediterranean diet is more like guidelines on the general types of foods to eat, then using accessible foods to meet those guidelines. For example, corn is not a Mediterranean food, but can easily be incorporated into the Mediterranean diet.

i just keep my kitchen stocked with fruits, spinach & other salad greens, hella beans, nuts, etc. Way easier to make good decisions if you don't leave the house.

one poster mentioned quinoa bowls. ive been recreating the baja one they sell at panera u can make enough to eat off of for a week.

ive p much cut out fast food, fried food, etc no problem but these damn cokes are tough to quit. prob the absolute most trash thing i can consume but the hook is deep. however, if you cut out sugar elsewhere and get used to drinking water predominantly then cokes will start to taste obscenely sweet

good luck bro hope you find something that works for you!

Your diet should contain about an egg, 8 ounces of varied lean protein, 3 servings of fresh fruit, and 3 servings of fresh vegetables (the more colorful the better) per day.

I mix quinoa with chickpeas, green onion, fresh tomatoes, garlic, and cumin, and eat it cold out of the fridge all week. Easy and delicious when I don't feel like making something.

2 portions of vegetables, 1 portion of protein, maybe 1 portion of starch (depending on the day).

An example of a meal may be 2 cups of steamed broccoli, 5 ounces of grilled chicken breast, 1 yam patty.
