The last time I ate at a buffet was about 1984. I was in high school and a bunch of us would go to Pizza Hut buffet before going to the movies or the mall.

I would not eat at a buffet today if you paid me. They are nasty.

If you never made it to Panchos you missed out.

I am not sure how good it was....mexican as kind of a novelty when I was close enough to one to eat there....but I know that shite tasted good then LOL.

Someone on these boards about a year or so ago posted a location that was still open????

ETA - Looks like Arlington and Fort Worth.

Picadilly is a cafeteria and not a buffet like Golden Corral.

I’m just excited about no wait Friday nights at all the local steakhouses for the next 40
Days.

A few years ago, there was a baseball tournament up in a small north Louisiana town. One of the civic clubs thought they'd have a BBQ brisket feed for the kids.

Much to their dismay, someone had to call the diocese to have the monsignor wave his hand and turn the meat into fish.

Cruise ship buffets are good. I don’t know about Carnival though. Shocker!

When you start talking about all you can eat buffets, immediately my mind pictures a line full of fatties wearing their purple and gold and beginning to grow impatient while they wait for their turn. Some are in scooters, some are using walkers or canes, and some are just young, obese baws with their date.

Not on that Sunday.. chicken and dressing, fried chicken and fried pork chops. Simple things that were delicious were white beans, cabbage, creamed corn, sweet potato casserole, green beans, and mashed potatoes. They list themselves as a soul food restaurant and we were definitely the only white people in there but it was probably like Paula Deen type recipes.

The white beans had so much flavor. The creamed corn was about 4 types of different corn mixed in there. The sweet potato casserole had extra nutmeg in it. Cabbage you could tell had cooked for hours to get to that point. Same with green beans. That perfect mac and cheese with the toasted cheese on top.

Desserts were about 5 cakes and banana pudding. I got some hummingbird cake and my wife got caramel cake. Really too sweet for me.

Sounds like a great spread. I’d skip the dessert, personally. Older I get I just don’t really care about it, like you I find most are too sweet.

Well I don’t know about all that. But the few times I’ve been to a Golden Corral, I’ve seen a big group of people wearing family reunion shirts.
