All new Acura TLX

Comes out later this year
LINK
The upcoming 2021 Acura TLX is wider, lower, and rides on a 3.7-inch-longer wheelbase than the outgoing model.
The new model's 272-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder is up 66 horsepower over the 2020 TLX's engine.
A Type S model is coming next spring with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 that we think will make around 350 horsepower.

The problem with the TLX is that you get a better value buying them used.

Nice car, but it looks like an Audi knock off.

Audi’s are great. They need knockoffs

Acura never comes to mind when I think about higher end cars

I'm conflicted.
I REALLY like the new Accord Touring with the turbo and 10 speed. The Accord Touring is an excellent vehicle that's a little bit larger than the Acura TLX. But the Acura comes standard with more horsepower, has a much better stance (front axle to dash ratio is better), and they are bringing back the Type S.
If I wait a little longer, Mazda's new Mazda6 will be out. And it's going to be a proper rear wheel drive sports sedan.

That’s a nice Accord.
But I’d drive it if I was in the market for a sedan. But in my adult life of going from truck to sedan to SUV I will never go back to sedan.

Audi is a great car - but this looks nothing like an Audi.
The Acura isn't as well finished as an A4 or A5, but it will undoubtedly last much longer. Honda makes some of most reliable, practical cars in the world.

I went SUV > Truck > Sedan...and I love driving the sedan. It’s just more fun.

trading the wife's current TLX for the S Type when it's available

I understand that.
FYI - The new Acura MDX is coming out soon although it's not a "proper" SUV like a Yukon, Grand Cherokee, Tahoe, or 4Runner. Acura did an excellent job with the latest RDX even though I'm not a huge fan of the styling decisions they've made. The new MDX is going to be a very good vehicle. I just hope they tone down the "Japanese" look in favor of a more simple, Volvo-like design.
This is a preliminary photo. Looks like a CX-9 to me.
There's a chance that Acura does a Type S model for the MDX, but I don't think it will work with a crossover body style. They'd need to move to a rear drive chassis like BMW or Cadillac to make that work.

Where is a good place to get proper fish and chips?

I would drive that. It's nice to see Acura reinvest in their product line.
Acura was neglected for a while by Honda, and they've lost a lot of ground against their competitors over the years. So much so that I think their brand is more in line with a Buick or Mazda competitor than a true alternative to a Lexus or BMW.

The type S better have the sh-awd. A fwd car with 350hp shouldn’t exist.
The idea that brand is at the upper end of the market and have zero rear wheel drive cars is what keeps me from ever taking them seriously as a potential purchase.

Nice but looks like a Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, etc.....

That's the problem with all Honda products because they are so well built and hold up very good. A 3 year old one is 30-40% cheaper and if it has good service records you're golden.
