If you are putting it on insurance, the collision place is absolutely gonna replace multiple things

Has this happen a long time ago on my Tahoe and started a similar thread. Get the police report done before the tow truck pulls it up and takes it off
I got lucky though, a coworker knew a guy that managers a local Chevy dealership. The guy at the dealership had just bought his wife a new Tahoe and put some sort of aftermarket rims on it so I was able to buy the standard stock replacements for very cheap

Spoke to PD and Insurance and have a tow coming to grab it today.
Call your insurance back and talk to someone that knows what they are talking about. This hasn’t been standard practice in years for any carrier. There is no reason to tow your vehicle (and most collision shops will refuse the vehicle because it’s not a collision).
Almost all insurance companies use someone like AJRS who will give you loaner rims and tires immediately and then order your new rims and tires and give you a voucher to have it all installed when they come in

At least it wasn't the whole vehicle.

The insurance company is gonna depreciate the value of your rims and tires. If the sticker had them at $5k, expect to get about $1300 from the insurance company.
You're gonna have to pay your deductible and a lot extra if you want the same stuff you had. Your ride is gonna look like shite with basic arse wheels unless you cough up a couple of extra thousand bucks.
This is just.....wrong. No betterment charged on wheels. Ins. co. owes to put you back to pre-loss condition, so if you had spinners, they pay for spinners. Ins. companies do charge a betterment for tire wear, but there is no old tire to measure tread depth on.......

It appears they stole your wheels, as well.

You should have locked your tires.

Is it better now that ya upgraded to your trailer?

You need to retire that vehicle.

What part of Dallas are you in?
I'm in Lakewood and this has been happening more frequently around us. Lots of stolen cars, stolen tires, break ins, etc.

Sorry, sucks that you had to wake up to this!
Serious question. Do they travel around with a hydraulic jack and cement blocks just looking for their next victim?
100%.
Hate that this happened to you, OP!
CajunMexican makes a good point. As several vehicles were hit, were these dudes driving around with a utility trailer or several pickups? Seems like it would be easy enough to catch them given the prevalence of security cameras. Crack/meth heads aren't usually too careful.
Hope your cops are better than the ones I've dealt with. Someone tried to break into my home about 20 years ago, and the cop whined about having to "do all the work" of writing up a report FFS.
Good luck.

If you have rental car coverage, get insurance to set you up with Enterprise or whoever they use for a few days while you wait for new wheels.
Have the collision shop check rotors and anything else that might have been damaged. Insurance is paying for it, so might as well be thorough and make sure everything is fixed properly.
Pay your deductible to the shop when the vehicle is ready for pickup.
Buy a set of locking lug nuts so your wheels aren't so easy to steal next time.

I guess at the very least it could cause them to move to another car. So I guess there's no negatives in them.
Unless you get a flat and lose the key.
