This happened to me in DC. I had a tire company come lift the vehicle and put tires on it. Not everyone would do it.
They left it on cinder blocks.

They're gonna drag it up on a flatbed and possibly damage the rotors/brakes even more. Keep tabs on it.
The insurance company is gonna depreciate the value of your rims and tires. If the sticker had them at $5k, expect to get about $1300 from the insurance company.
You're gonna have to pay your deductible and a lot extra if you want the same stuff you had. Your ride is gonna look like shite with basic arse wheels unless you cough up a couple of extra thousand bucks.
The police won't do anything to help you other than file your police report for the insurance company. Your wheels are already in Houston.

I doubt they had the time to remove the tires from the rims first.
Why don't you just go buy 4 new tires and keep on keeping on? File with insurance, of course.

No need to even worry about anything else.
Well I guess my main question would be - Should I make sure the repair center checks for X because my rotors are on the ground. Any internal issues from this. I want to make sure my insurance covers everything it needs to now and not have to fight it later.

Move out of the hood
My sister had the same thing happen to her, on Nashville Avenue one block off St Charles. Doesn't matter the hood, if they want it they take it.

I've had my rotor fall to the concrete and no damage to rim. crack in concrete.

They took the wheels too?!
It's all about the speed. They may not have even used a jack. 2 guys picking up the corner of the vehicle while the other yanks the whole wheel/tire off.

Well thats why I wouldnt let them tow it. I had mine lifted, placed tires on and them towed to shop for the perm replacement.

Damn Canadian's.
I'm going to Houston Wednesday for a meeting. Hope my whole vehicle isn't stolen.

I did confirm with the tow company that they are brining 4 tires to put on temporarily.
That was my first question

Punishment fits the crime is bullshite. Sorry Hammurabi. An eye for an eye doesn't work.
If you steal from another person, your life is forfeit. No castle doctrine bullshite. The second you attempt to steal from another person or damage their property, bye Felecia.

Back when I lived in apartments I saw this at least 10 times driving to work in the mornings, pathetic.
One was a big muscle head guy who drove a jeep with huge tires until one day it was sitting on blocks.
Takes a sorry son of a bitch to do that

Probably put the blocks under it and then took the valve stems out to flatten the tires then they can remove them without a jack. Check with Toyota to get the dealer cost for the tires and rims, collect that minus your part from insurance and buy aftermarket ones. Do not let them drag it up a flat bed to take to a shop. We had a set stolen off a Tahoe, oem rims and tires were over $1,000 each from dealer.
