I acknowledged the age already. Clearly reading comprehension isn't your strong suit.

When our babies were just starting on solid foods, we did it, kind of.

Not to that extent, but if we were eating something and they wanted a bite, we'd bite off a piece chew it once or twice to "bust it up" and give it to them to stick in their own mouth. We didn't go all bird style on them.
