define "dope."
??? Uh ... get the latest PDR and start and page 1 I guess.

Dope is either cannabis or heroin. A significant difference.

Me personally, I have a far more inclusive definition ... but to each his own.
Seriously though--you don't consider tuinal or amptetamine or barbituates or acid or peyote or dilaudid ... dope?

I don't ever really use the word dope, so no. Are you using dope as a catch-all for recreational drugs?
Posted on 6/18/15 at 6:02 pm to OWLFAN86
Yes, quite of few addictions but unlike a lot of others I'm honest about it to myself

Sure, but not just the drugs, the overall experience.
For example, lots of people take drugs. They're drug takers, but squares all the same. But a dope fiend--a dope fiend takes dope for for the one and only purpose of radically altering his consciousness--getting high.
So dope in this sense refers to what's ingested--and what results in the ingestor's psyche.
shite, all this talk about dope has made me hungr--I gotta take a break. Be back in awhile.

I guess I'm a dope fiend through and through.

Then you're prolly experiencing the same hunger pangs I'm presently feeling.
So let's load up, indulge--maybe we circle back in awhile and compare notes.
Medicine cabinet, here I come!

If a real alcoholic could only drink "like a normal person"..........he would do it 24/7.
And thus you have the conundrum.

Not all alcoholics want to drink first thing in the morning

Yep, sitting in a meeting right now

I feel sorry for people who don't drink everyday. When they wake up in the morning that's the best they'll feel all day.

I will say that alcohol kicked my arse time after time. I considered myself pretty weak when I gave in night after night to going out and closing down bars.
While I do not consider myself "strong" for abstaining for these many years, I am prouder of myself for taking personal responsibility in doing whatever I need to do to stay sober. It is truly one of the real gifts I have been given in my life -- and I know I can frick it all up again if I start back with "my old friend" alcohol.

How many drinks does it take to be considered an alcoholic???
That's not how it works
If you drink a case of beer one day on the beach or something and then don't really drink again until other occasions like tailgating and such you're not an alcoholic
If you feel like you need to drink everyday when you get off work or if you get physically sick from not drinking then you're an alcoholic

is there a difference between a problem drinker and an alcoholic?
i mean its like society is all about labeling people nowadays anyway.
i don't really care about drinking now but still do it sometimes. I've been called a binge drinker plenty of times.
so whatever
there are several layers to this shite it seems like.

I apparently can't use real language here.
