We went whale watching in Victoria, and honestly I could do without that. Not that the whales were cool, but because we saw whales off the cruise ship
Did you see a few whales at the pool on the cruise ship instead of the ocean?

Did one last summer. Sitka, Skagway, Juneau and Victoria.
I played golf with my daughter in Sitka, just because I wanted to say I played golf in Alaska. Beautiful views from the course as it was fairly mountainous.
Did the train in Skagway and it was probably my favorite part of the trip.
Juneau, I did Tracy's Crab Shack then just walked around town.
In Victoria, we did the gardens, which were beautiful.
I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Ketchikan is a bit like Alaska Gatlinburg. Lots of tourist shops for t-shirts and such. I was only there for a few hours so I just brought a book and went to a bar. Have a lunch, couple beers, read book, back to ship. But if you are there for more than 2-3 hours, do some serious research if you want to enjoy the area and try to get past the touristy stuff.
Victoria is awesome. I love it there. If you are there in Dungeness season have some crabs. I enjoy 10 Acres Commons next to the Empress Hotel. Redfish Bluefish is good too.
Enjoy your trip. The scenery is amazing. Spend a lot of time on deck.

When we went we took a helicopter up to the top of a glacier and hiked it. It was awesome.

Inner passage, Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and I think Victoria BC

Pretty sure you are on a cruise with my FIL. He and his wife have been on 35 cruises or something like that. This is their 3rd or 4th trip to Alaska. Really wish I could think of something for you to do to screw with them.

How long will you be in Seattle before embarkation?

I did this exact itinerary and it's the best cruise I've ever been on. Even the throwaway stop (Victoria) was beautiful.

Red Dog Saloon in Juneau was really good in 2006!
Victoria was one of the prettiest cities I have ever seen.

My wife wants to go on one of these Alaska Cruises. I think I am going to do this for our 25th anniversary.

You may get some snow flurries during the northern part of your cruise.
Our whole family did that same cruise about 10 years ago and really enjoyed it. We took a glacier landing flight at one of the stops. I'm thinking Juneau. I'm glad we did it but once is enough.
Don't get discouraged if you feel you're being directed to go to every tourist trap jewelry shop at every stop by the ship's passenger service/activities directors. I think they may get a commission on how much their passengers spend at those shops.

Going next year, there's alot I want to do, but there's a zip line in Whittier, I think, that tops my list.

In skagway we took the train through the mountains into Canada, but instead of getting on the bus to get back, we rode bikes back. 90% of the ride was downhill, so it was mostly coasting.

Camped at an rv park in Skagway on two separate occasions. Located near the train tracks. One occasion while walking to the harbor, I heard this noise in the road side ditch sounding like nutria rats. Taking a close look, the adult salmon 4-5 pounds were thick. I could have gathered a bunch by just kicking them on land. But I knew someone would be watching as we were in the center of town and Alaska green jeans give big tickets.

I’ve done almost that exact route before and enjoyed it!
Don’t waste your time on something like a salmon bake. Couldn’t believe how many people were doing that as an excursion when there are so many better outdoor activities.

Did it this summer. Was very nice. But I’m not sure if the cruise had anything to do with it or if I was just in awe of Alaska and BC so much.
Absolutely beautiful. Like God took extra time on the canvas with his brushstrokes.
