quote:

He says he dropped the clock, tied to a string, through an air vent. Set to go off ten minutes later, it would let him know where to punch a hole in the living room wall to pass a wire through for a TV hookup. “As I was laying it down, all of a sudden I heard it go ‘thunk!’ as it came loose,” he said. “I thought, well, that’s not a real problem. You know it’s still going to go off. And it did.” He couldn’t pull it back up, but figured, “Maybe, three-four months it’ll run out of battery. That was in September of 2004. It is still going off every day. And during daylight savings time it goes off at ten minutes ’til eight. And during standard time it goes off at ten minutes to seven at night.”

quote:

Jerry’s wife, Sylvia, says the sudden ring can come as a jolt to unsuspecting guests. “It starts with a soft ‘beep beep beep beep’ and it gets louder and closer together, and that will set people like, ‘What is that?'”

I'd have to cut through the sheetrock to get that out. After about 2 days.

As would 99.99% of the population.

This dude's problem solving skills are suspect.

That doesn't even make sense.

Leaving it in there for 13 years, what a beta bitch. I'll bet he's a college professor or government worker.

With one story this guy has told the world he is a dumb arse, can't tie a knot and is probably the laziest person around.

What battery is that? That would make a good commercial for some company.

So he hasn't gotten laid in 13 years? No way a woman would deal with that.

This is a fricking news story? Tell the fricktard to cut a hole in the wall and get it out.

I would have cut it out by at least the second day. But after about year ten, at some point it becomes an exercise in seeing just exactly how long he battery can possibly last.

It's just sound. No need to tear up the wall to remove it. Just ignore it.

Cutting the sheet rock and closing it back in is ridiculously easy. No good reason why he didn't do it.
