I know of at least 2 city ordinances....the first was the Bossier Board Walk and I also think Opelousas against wearing saggy pants.

We can address that when it happens.

I'm sure it won't happen because of the fear of lawsuits and all.

You know, basic hypocritical stuff like that.

A private company is and should be free to fire anyone for nearly any reason. Employment is a privilege. Do I agree with the reason? No, but its not my company.

If customers don't like Turner's decision, they are free to show that dislike by no longer doing business with them.

Yep, this guy isn't going to beat anyone in court if he decides to go that route.

The company isn't on the hook to begin with. The company didn't want that flag flying in their parking lot and gave him the ultimatum. His choice of not taking the flag down was basically his resignation.
Chevron, Exxon, Shell and on.....if you are parking on company property - that vehicle is under their control - same rule applies with fire arms in your vehicles - it is a no no.

The First Amendment doesn't grant you immunity from repercussions for saying and doing dumb shite. I'm sure this is what most think if they give the 'southern heritage' spiel.

If not and it was their private personal vehicle, F them.
if that vehicles is in a company parking lot - the owner of the parking lot is in control - he was given the option of removing the flag and refused - da got the ax.

He says the manager said, “Hey, we like your work here and we like you, but your flag, it’s gonna have to go. He said I hate to be the one to tell you that but if you don’t I’m gonna have to fire you.”

He says the company has called him three times since Monday morning offering to rehire him if he’d just take the flag off his truck. But now, Sims says it has just gone too far and he stands by his actions. “I’m unemployed now but I still feel that I made the right decision,” says Sims.
IMO This guy thinks because the company called him back 3 times to rehire him implies that he thinks he has a lawsuit, but obviously they just think he is a good worker.

I wonder what happens if he was flying a mexican flag, or a black Panther flag, or some other flag.
Or just had it as a bumper sticker.

I'm SURE there's more than one vehicle on site that has a sticker or window decal with the rebel flag and a saying like "if you don't like it you can kiss my REBEL arse!" on it.

Was it specifically because it was a Flag?

So they drove to work and were called outside and told to remove the flag from their truck...but the trucks were not parked on the company's property?
