Good luck with that at 106 mph. I've done 60-70 mph in some hideous snow storms but that's with AWD and really good snow tires. I wouldn't even think about this in the south. It's entirely different when you're doing it on roads that are consistently snow packed versus roads that go from clean pavement to ice.

You can thank David Albo for that. He was the state lawmaker who got that changed in 2007. Fun fact about Albo R-Springfield, He is an attorney at an traffic law firm and his firm ended up making millions in additional fees in defending speeders who were ensnared by the law.

Can be the discretion of the officer.

A trooper on I49 got me doing 108 when I was 19 and he wrote me a general ticket.

Never really sped since then.

Easy peezy.

, none of that is easy peezy. Accelerating, braking, and turning are exponentially more difficult on ice.

In Iowa I got a ticket going 110 in a 55 when I was 16. No jail and no pulling of the license on the spot. I did lose my license for a year and had to carry high risk insurance for a while after I got it back....but I was able to drive for about another 3 months before the suspension actually took place. I got that ticket probably only 2 or 3 months after I got my license too. Oh well life lesson learned.
