Clearly they didn't resurrect your wit.

Every traffic stop I've ever been a part of and/or witnessed. I just assumed it was part of their training.

Well the officer was barking out orders as if this was not a typical fender bender. Or do we disagree on that point?

i guess this could be true i really don't know

And I am guessing after getting the case dismissed, it was appealed to the CoA, where it lost again.
i sure as hell hope not because the one thing this guy probably wants more than the cop losing his job or getting jail is being compensated

If you search "Phillip Hancock" on Facebook you'll find one in Smiths Station, Alabama. That's in Lee County, where this shooting took place. Judging from the pictures the cop is an Auburn fan.
Another article about the incident

Why is he barking out orders? If he is so concerned for his safety, why is he allowing the truck driver to advance on him?
This was a simple fender bender where somehow a man was shot, that is ridiculous!

When you have little to no recourse for bad decisions and questionable behavior you will see said things continue to rise. That is a economic fact. Because cops get little to know punishment for things like this they will continue to do them and claim fear. If civilians were allowed to sue them for their pension you'd see shite like this decline tremendously.

Both of the following groups are wrong:
1) People who continue to use rare examples of inappropriate use of force to make generalizations about all cops.
2) People who defend cops in nearly every situation.
Cops are what they are - a very necessary group of lower educated people who have the difficult and important job of keeping the peace, but who also tend make some very dumb and deadly mistakes. There are also a very low percentage of truly malicious and racist police officers.
There is plenty of blame to go around and constant cop bashing is not helping the situation, with more and more cops dropping out of the force and more and more police departments becoming timid and impotent.

I said from the beginning he should have stayed in the car.
The average person does not interact with cops on a regular basis. Plus, a lot of people are big fans of cops ("back the blue" shite everywhere) and have never even considered being fearful of them. Especially in the south where you see tons of cop supporters. You can't expect Karen, with 3 kids and an SUV with a Back the Blue sticker to heed your advice of treating cops like idiots with a gun, because she probably doesn't see cops as idiots with a gun. The average person would think nothing of hopping out of their car when the cop they called for an accident finally arrives. That is reasonable thing to do.
You may personally behave as if all cops are idiots and can shoot you at any time, and that may be smart of you to do, but the average person does not - nor should they have to.

Through these interactions it has cause more racial strain on both sides. Alot of what we see now could have been avoided decades ago.

I said this earlier but this is a long thread...This was 3 years ago and the video was just released. The cop is not going to lose his job. Victim ordered to pay court costs.

This is a good argument. Why do you think a judge justified the shooting then?
Simple answer? Judge hooked him up. I'm not like that idiot tangerine, who thinks every facet of law enforcement is corrupt, but with the facts presented, hard not to come to that conclusion.
