You said it's a relative of your wife, so she's just going to text someone else in the family asking for your address so she can send a Christmas card, and then she'll know.

Send her a bill for all of the care provided. When she refuses to pay seize the dog as collateral. Could offer to purchase the dog from her too.

This is called separation anxiety and possessive aggression and isn’t a good thing.

No, just told our vet and groomer he was given to us by a relative who couldn't care for him.

$2k is a lot to spend in 5 months at a vet for a healthy 2 year old dog. What seemed to be the problem?

She’s not hiring a lawyer if she has financial problems.. tell her that any discussion of return starts with her handing over all expenses related to the care of the dog. She’ll fold and call you an a-hole.

Nothing wrong. Bout 750 for blood work full panel to make sure he was healthy and once he got sick. Got shots etc and got groomed twice(twice by another groomer) and took flees off him when we got him back in April. Then 600 on a doggie door installation, dog bed and Food. It all adds up...

so he doesn’t hate when anyone gets near you? He likes your entire family or just yourself? I’m just trying to understand

There is no telling how many times she shipped him around before us. 1st time we went to get him he was locked in a kennel made to fit a dog half his size. Sad. He has been in a healthy family since coming with us. We have another dog that is 6 and they are pals.

Do you have it in txts she gave you the dog or she just told you? In text, you are good, I’d think and I’d immediately go microchip or have chip changed to me. Personally, I wouldn’t give him back. Did she ever check on him since April? Seems she abandoned him with you for a few months and you even gave him vet care. You also need to train this dog bf something happens bc of his resource guarding you. He’s probably messed up bc of the instability which would also explain the separation anxiety.
