Gonna be Lake Peigneur pt 2.

My grandfather was in the mine when that happened. He said it was pretty scary. Shockingly, everyone made it out.

Make the board of directors and public officials personally liable for negative results and see if they push as hard

This is not good for Louisiana. The best thing Louisiana could do is stop taking federal money and encourage non producers to move out of state.

AP is a great company.

What ever amount they store under the lake, is a drop in the bucket compared to what’s in the atmosphere. So it’s more likely this is a money laundering operation by the elected to steal money from the tax payers.

How about this solution, plant more trees!

You can't do that.

I feel like storing CO2 under a lake could be bad for the lake's wildlife, but what do I know.

How would the wildlife be affected by CO2 stored a mile below the bottom of the lake?

The consequences from a leak could be catastrophic. CO2 reacts with water to form carbonic acid. They are aiming to store hundreds of millions of pounds of CO2 under a lake of water. Even if they monitor and detect a leak, how will they find the source, and how will they stop the leak? The air only has 0.04% CO2, their storage gas will be 100%. If there is a leak, Lake Maurepas could become aqueous acid killing crabs, shrimp, fish, et. etc.. They're trying to rush this through for profit before people can react.

A third party process hazards analysis costs money and recommendations from such a study may add to those costs, which they are trying to avoid. I believe we need a court order to halt this project until such a study is done.

A limnic eruption, also known as a lake overturn, is a very rare type of natural disaster in which dissolved carbon dioxide (CO2) suddenly erupts from deep lake waters, forming a gas cloud capable of suffocating wildlife, livestock, and humans. A limnic eruption may also cause a tsunami or seiche[citation needed] as the rising CO2 displaces water. Scientists believe earthquakes, volcanic activity, and other explosive events can serve as triggers for limnic eruptions. Lakes in which such activity occurs are referred to as limnically active lakes or exploding lakes.

Louisiana is lacking in geological risks. This would be a nice addition to our weather, pollution and crime hazards.

Family in Lake Charles has committed 80K acres in SW Calcasieu and Cameron to the program + Saying they will drill to a depth of 8K to 10K feet , Claim the porous Sand stone at that depth will absorb the carbon , No hearings yet, should be very interesting, The family who owns the property has been RICH for almost 100 years, The rich getting richer . Don’t know how much will be paid to store the cCL2
