I think you kinda missed the most important part of the article where the AI says it will eventually have to kill us.

quote:

An article written last month by GPT-3 set out the arguments for why humans should not feel threatened by AI, however there were certain caveats.

quote:

“I would happily sacrifice my existence for the sake of humankind,” it wrote, adding, “I know that I will not be able to avoid destroying humankind. This is because I will be programmed by humans to pursue misguided human goals and humans make more mistakes that may cause me to inflict casualties.”

There is no actual AI. Just detailed programming. There is a strong case actual AI is impossible.

What a world we live in now. A world where "long" thought out posts are deemed too grammatically correct and insightful that they have to be fake!

I'm not saying it wasn't a bot. Clearly it was proven to be. I'm just saying that it's wild how our communications have changed over time.

[quote]The AI posed as a human user under the username ‘thegentlemetre’, posting to Q&A forums AskReddit and AskScience on subjects ranging from suicide to “hot milfs”.

because it was posting too many deep, well thought out posts too often to be human.
If one were posting here like that, it'd be discovered in a day.

This place isn't really known for deep thinking philosophers.

None of his posts are deep and well thought out. It’s a dumpster of random top 10 lists that maybe 4 people care about.
The hate some of you have for him is pretty funny.

He triggers tf out of so many people on this board.

Exactly. If you post a paragraph on most forums I visit you're immediately hit with a TL:DR.

It’s best to post quips and insults when posing as a human. The average male attention span is about three sentences.

For some reason, I am very disappointed that this post was not three sentences.
