She gets a bad rap on here because this is a very polarizing and political topic. She's been my infectious disease doctor for years and is one of the smartest doctors I have on my regular rotation of specialists I have to see for my healthcare conditions.

I cannot respect any doctor who absolutely ignores natural immunity. Doesnt talk about it. Doesnt present numbers of reinfections much less hospitalized reinfections. I would respect her more if she brought those into an honest discussion.

I'll help, 99.8%. Listen, you're an emotional little girl. It's why we don't let people like you make decisions. Because emotional children make bad decisions without thinking of the consequences.

No. Y'all are a bunch of whinny arse bitches too stupid and scared to get vaccinated.

Again, not scared of the virus or the vaccine. Just find the vaccine completely unnecessary. So, little girl, any more emotions you want to let out?

If you are in to statistics and data sets, and have lots of time, Johns Hopkins is the best source for Covid information.

The unanswered question is whether natural immunity is as effective as the vax and endless boosters

Not quite. The ACTUAL unanswered question is whether the VAX is as effective as natural immunity.

The reality is, no one trusts the media anymore. Everyone is skeptical of anything the government says. These facts and the inability to actually research and discuss things for yourself makes so many people hesitant to "get the vaccine".

hasn't this always been true?

If you just realized you should stay home when you are sick you are an idiot

The average age of death in the US is 74. The average age of COVID death in the US is 74. Until that number changes my 42 yr old healthy arse is gonna be fine.

How old are your parents? Aunts and uncles? Neighbors? This makes you feel better?

I hope you take the time to realize how stupid this post was. Why is Covid special? Wouldn't you be more of a crusader by taking on DEATH in general? Moron

actually it was 78 in US, but overall covid has a mortality rate only 6% higher than normal mortality rate for those over 70.

but life expectancy did drop 1.8 year because of covid.

still remains realitivly simple though

- get your arse in shape or stay in shape and get to healthy weight according to BMI

- if over 75, stay your arse home as much as possible if scared. if really scared, dont leave the house.

i personally have the vaccine, but that was a personal choice and yes i had side effects. But in the end this is real fricking simple

- if you are scared, dont leave the house

- if you choose to leave the house, dont expect others to give up their freedom for your feelings.

same shite as the firs tso called outbreak.

We can't reach herd immunity with only 40% of the country vaccinated.

We ain't reaching herd immunity with these vaccines that are statistically significantly less than 100% effective at both infection and spread.

Deal with it.

I agree. Herd immunity will be achieved when a certain percentage of the population is immune. Millions have contracted the virus and recovered, and therefore possess immunity. Measuring antibody levels is one thing, but the proof is going to be in who gets the infection after being exposed to the virus and who doesn’t.

what I meant to say but worded it wrong. Pretty sure I had the Vid early last year. Wife was sick as a dog for 2 weeks with multiple neg flu and strep tests, I was down a little too but not enough to worry about. Neither of us are vaxxed and neither have had anything other than allergy type stuff since so we’ll see

This is an observation that some doctors in my family have noted. They aren't as confident in their understanding of the real Covid risk factors that contribute to hospitalization or death as they were a few months ago.

Anecdotal. But probably not any less reliable than the crap people are pulling off of facebook or CNN.

In general I think we all get that being in poor shape is bad, especially when things come along to stress your systems.

However...from the beginning, I have wondered whether there is some absolute factor around who this virus or any virus affects. Blood type was thrown around, I have heard no conclusions or studies or data analysis (also haven't looked for it). What about genetics? Viruses attack on a molecular level, I'm sure genes could play a role. No idea how - but fat unhealthy people have barely gotten affected and some people I know who run 10 miles a day have. There is a reason.
