OK I searched and didn't find anything but has anyone purchased an "aftermarket" extended warranty (or after your factory/dealer warranty has expired) for your vehicle.....that you were satisfied with?
Any horror story/waste of money examples bc the company didn't cover shite?
TIA

Just remember that if it was worth it, they wouldn't sell it.

Hell no. Fackers call me everyday asking me to buy one for cars I don't even own anymore. If i met someone that gave out my number to one of these companies they would likely get a black eye.

My buddy bought one for his GMC 2500 Diesel Denali. Something in his fuel system exploded and caused around 14k in damage. His extended warranty covered it, so they do come in handy sometimes.

I've bought 1 aftermarket and 1 extended certified (which is still current).
The aftermarket? I knew it was a terrible deal and I bought it anyway. The VERY THING I was worried about happened, right before the end of the warranty, so I thought I won the game on that one.
Now - get this - A/C failed while on vacation. I take it to the local dealership (rhymes with Whorelando) and they do an estimate for about $1200. The aftermarket warranty wants to see pictures since it is over $1000. They deny due to alleged collision damage. I must assume it occurred, but it was undisclosed to me when I bought the car in the used marked. Apparently these A/C systems "never" fail prior to 100k miles.
So, the frickers who sold me the car and the extended warranty didn't disclose the damage AND THE DAMAGE VOIDED THE WARRANTY THEY SOLD ME.
In the final insult, I get the private pay bill from the dealership on the A/C and with tax, was about $997. If they had billed that much to begin with, the warranty would likely have paid because it was under their screening threshold. In their effort to screw the warranty company, they screwed me.

Yes and no.
Not worth it for most does not mean not worth it for me.

I've bought 2 cars in the past decade and have purchased the extended bumper to bumper warranty that covered car for 60 months (life of the loan). Paid for itself on the Grand Cherokee ($900). We will see if it does on the Sequoia ($1200).

The only extended anything ive ever bought is wheel and tire.
With all the construction here ive had to replace 2 tires already. Worth it.

I always get the road hazard for my tires too from Discount Tire.

I have heard that warranties from “fidelity” are good. Don’t know much about them but they are preferred among some German car owners.

Jack Daniels sells Jack Daniels and it's definitely worth it

Jack Daniels isn't a hedge bet that the car will/won't break before you get bored of it and trade it in

Bigger scam than insurance.

The p-values of an extended warranty increasing your NPV (or minimizing depending how you calculate) is very low.

So the GC it worked after the reg warranty? What was it for?
Anyone, try to get out of one of these, when wrapped up into payments from dealership getting you at the right time?

Don't sweat it, man. "Bob Smith" from Bangalore will be calling you soon with a sweet deal on a car warranty.
