After watching lots of Live PD; why are they so hesitant with the tasers?

If I were a cop, anyone who hinted at resisting/fighting would get tased.

Tasers can still kill, and if an individual sees it come out, it can easily escalate a situation.

It is basically the main reason to watch Live PD, so you would think that they may be a little more liberal with the use of them.

I train BJJ with several LEO’s and we discuss at length how practical some simple chokes would be much better for getting a perp apprehended when they get choked out, especially one that is strung out on drugs where pain really doesn’t phase them.

They found out that their viewers like hot women-gone.
Their viewers liked watching douchebags get tased-gone.
Their viewers didn't want a plethora of commercials. It is so commercial-laden in the last hour that it has been rendered unwatchable.
I wonder how their ratings are, compared to when they started?

Agree with everything you say, but my biggest complaint is, it’s just generally boring. I’m not asking for a hi speed chase or shoot outs every episode, but a cops job is basically boring as hell. This show reflects that. But it’s not enjoyable to watch.
Not knocking the job- most jobs are boring. But no one really wants to watch it. That’s why there is no “Live Customer Service Rep” or “live air traffic control”.

Had a cop tell me that he could have tazed me for getting out of my truck in my driveway right as he pulled in.
I laughed at him and walked in my house while debating if he had any recourse had I told him to go frick himself.

But it doesn't have to be. They have 2-3 teams in about 6-7 towns. It is Fri. and Sat. night when people are getting drunk and high. There are plenty of criminals that are not just getting a DUI.
20 camera teams should be able to find at least 5-6 exciting things per hour. It cannot all be De'Quanmodello with 2 grams of weed in the console or Gomer keeping it hunnit with some middle aged ditchpig that just got beat up by her worthless boyfriend.
I don't need a shooting every 8 minutes, but at least bring back the eye candy and cut out the 6 minutes of commercials, then 5 minutes of show thing.
