Advocate: warning WIPIPO bad despite Democrats fixing evil segregated schools

Gee. Forced social engineering of schools by the government - what could go wrong?

This quote sorta sums it up you racist bastards:

Once he graduated from Tara, Gipson exclusively attended historically Black colleges, earning three degrees along the way. He said that requiring the desegregation could only go so far.

“We legislated integration, but these folks didn’t change," he said.”

No - the hypocrisy is they forced integrated the schools and let them turn shitty. They still blame whitey even though property taxes are mostly aimed at public education. There were some pretty decent schools in BR up until the early 80’s. Democratic leadership changed that and the article clearly points it to racist whitey. Did you even read the article?

Baton Rouge schools aren’t segregated by race. They’re segregated by money. Anyone that can afford to escape does. Those that can’t afford it are stuck. Nothing to do with race.

Busing in the 1980s wounded the schools and they slowly bled to death. If your kid is smart you are fine, magnet schools are great. If your kid isn’t academic, you prob need to move out of town or go to private school.

This is exactly it. And to take it a step further - even the private schools are ‘segregated’ by money. I think that’s why there are a lot of homeschoolers in BR (black and white).

In the 1980s, a new, and even more controversial, court order required crosstown busing.

This, not integration, single handedly destroyed BR public schools to the point of no return.

integrated the schools

this is a GOOD thing, let's at least all agree with this part...

let them turn shitty.

agreed... this is where the problem truly lies...
quote:

Democratic leadership changed that

the Democratic leadership in BR has been absolutely atrocious... like, really, REALLY bad...

Did you even read the article?

perused it.... just wanted you to clarify what it was you were saying b/c I wasn't sure.. that's all...

but yeah, basically, I feel exactly like you do...

Don’t the public schools get money whether or not the residents decide to have their children attend? Point being that your school may be mostly black, but aren’t you getting all the money for kids in the district?

From the article --

quote:

The most promising way to integrate any school, he said, is to offer something special. As an example, he noted the law school at Southern University, where White students make up about half the enrollment.

“When there are programs that people will want, (people) will go to the programs where they are,” Robinson said.

This guy has to be one of the most ignorant motherf*ckers on the entire f*cking planet. The only reason people go to Southern Law School is because they can’t get in anywhere else. It’s the worst law school in the country.
