The geology there attracts lots of attention... the society not so much.
Gary Bowersox LINK tried promoting gem/geology tours but never with any success. Now in retirement he isn't recommending it. Spectacular gems and mineral specimens do come from there, but collecting in person is a foolish thing to try.
