This is like saying that you should be ok with the fat person spilling over into your seat on an airplane. You paid for it just like the fat guy did. But by all means, let’s have non-fat people just stay away from planes too.

No this is like if American Airlines offered Fat planes and normal planes and you chose to buy a ticket on the fat plane and complained about all the fat people on your plane

Are people getting hammered in bars really concerned about their health? Seems a little hypocritical. I’m for letting the private business decide, capitalism will decide if it was a correct choice.

Smoking is a legal activity. I own my business. If I want to allow a legal activity on my premises, who the hell is the government to tell me otherwise? If you don't like it, don't come to my business and instead frequent one where smoking is banned voluntarily by the business owner. That's called the free market.

Dallas did this yrs ago, and it turned out ok. I would say bars in general arent as busy during non-peak times.

Smokers did it to themselves though by being pricks about it. lighting up when others are eating. I like sitting at the bar. Why am I inconvenienced cause of that?? Smoking is a nuisance.

I have zero issue with a business deciding to ban smoking. I’m of the belief that this an issue the government need not get involved in. Free Market and all that shite.

FYI I’m not a smoker.

If I'm getting hammered in a bar, Im the one who is responsible for what I'm consuming. So if I want to screw up my own health, that's my choice. Just like you screwing up your health should be your choice with smoking. You just need to do it away from those who don't want to experience the negative effects of your decision. I mean, when I'm drinking in a bar, I don't go around forcing the people around me to take shots.

So you don't think that businesses have to follow any laws, rules, or regulations other than this smoking thing?

Holy shite, I can't tell if you're trolling but I hope so.

Well I don’t want to be around you when you drink yourself into oblivion ane act like an a-hole. Maybe you should take that somewhere else. Better yet, ban alcohol.

You're missing the point. Me drinking alcohol doesn't give your liver cirrhosis.

I mean, maybe it could because I'm a lot of fun to drink with and you'd probably want to join in. But still.

Holy shite, I can't tell if you're trolling but I hope so.

Are you serious? I think businesses should be allowed to decide whether or not a LEGAL activity is permitted on their premises. If a restaurant or bar allows smoking, you are intelligent enough to determine if the ribeye or drinks are worth the smoke. Conversely, the business owner is intelligent enough to determine if allowing smoking costs him more money than it makes him. I cannot grasp how some people believe their wants and desires should trump a business owner's right to run his business as he or she sees fit.

No but you drinking in excess might cause you to make a bad decision. Like kill my family by deciding to drive. The problem is that society thinks the world will get better with more legislation. All that does is tell government that it’s okay to micro-manage even the smallest part of our lives. At some point, the only difference between us and monarchy is that you get to vote for your ruler. Liberty can only be had with responsibility and accountability. We’re throwing it away so someone else can tell us what to do.
