And those of us in Baton Rouge don’t give a shite what Cantrell or the S&WB does or what happens in Kennah, brah.
Is that what gets printed in the BR version? If so, they are about as amateur as they come. Heck., Scott Rabalais must know someone the way he gets LSU Gymnastics on the front page (or multiple pages) of the sports section.

New Orleans area do not want Baton Rouge news

Feeling is mutual.

Also, if the NOLA citizens are so concerned about gentrification feel free to take all the trash that floated up our way 14 years ago.

According to Times pic/Nola.com writers on twitter, they’re being let go (not sure if this is all of them or not)

At some point, people of both areas are going to realize we would be a lot better off if we worked together as a region, instead of this stupid rival thing.

The Advocate already has a NOLA edition. The only things Georges is buying is the name (including the website name), the archives, and maybe some equipment like desks and computers. That's it. The T-P as a company is shutting down.

Georges will hire a few T-P as needed to flesh out the staff, as I'm sure they could use an extra person here or there, or maybe get an upgrade here or there. But there really isn't anything to "merge"

Every day.

I ran into Richard Manship and his wife a few weeks ago and asked him to buy the Advocate back.

He asked me why. I told him I just wanted Baton Rouge to have its own newspaper again.

He laughed.

Yes, that's included when I said the name, sorry wasn't more clear

Honestly that's probably the most valuable thing he bought

The article on nola.com about the sale, does not allow comments. How rich.
