No.
But not offered as degree at LSU.

I think you take the OT too seriously.

If you can handle rough situations, become a cop. Seriously. A lot of cops make six figures. Your degree may give you an upper leg once you get in, if you don't get rejected for having too high of an IQ.
Yeah, your ecology job with the state may be cut, but state troopers just got a 20% pay increase. You'll earn 3.33% of your salary in retirement benefits every year you work so if you get in at 25 you can retire at 48 with a pretty decent guaranteed life benefit. After that you'll have time to pursue a job in your desired field and make that check on top of the retirement money.

Take the plant job if you can get it. Work a while, make some money, and get a new perspective on things. You can go to school at any point, but you might enjoy making a little money and being out of school for a while.
Not a bad idea except don't get yourself into debt buying cars etc which would make it impossible to go back to school.

1. Nursing.

tons of jobs after you graduate.
Yeah....not so much this. The whole "there is a nursing shortage!!". Not the case anymore. I've met new grads struggling to find a nursing job out of nursing school (with a BSN) and basically scrambling to find any nursing job they can get.
Posted on 2/2/15 at 9:44 pm to lsunurse
Nurse .. Where did you get your 4-year degree ?
Posted on 2/2/15 at 9:49 pm to TigahRag
arse. Still working on that.
But...when I was a new grad (2001) there really was a nursing shortage and you didn't have to have a BSN. You could have a nursing diploma or associates and take your pick of any nursing job in any area of nursing you wanted.
You basically decided what area you wanted to be a nurse in, applied and usually got the job. It's just not like that anymore. People just still keep thinking that there is this massive shortage in regards to nursing. Just depends on what part of the country you are at. But...when you live in an area that has multiple nursing programs, with people on waiting lists to just go to school....doesn't sound like a shortage there.

Playing right or left field Is not that different than playing Centerfield.
Unfortunately there's no song about Look at me, I can be Left Field.
Good luck slugger, you are taking one for the team here and it is not unnoticed.

Dude do not go into radiology unless you can line up a MRI job once you get out. If you are stuck in X-Ray you are fricked especially if you work in a hospital. Take it from someone who's been a tech for 8 years

go find some engineering firms looking for guys who write environmental impact reports and mitigation and all that crap. seems like you have some environmental skills shouldn't be hard to use that for a pretty good career

Mostly because ERs and hospitals in general are getting busier by the day. Employers are reluctant to hire the adequate staff to compensate for this. In addition ER MDs order much more tests (xrays, CT) nowadays because they are afraid of getting sued for missing something. So even though drs know a test will be negative they order it anyway for legal reasons which puts a huge strain on the staff

Since you have a bachelors already, you should be able to complete an accelerated BSN program if you decide to go that route. Before I got my acceptance letter, I was contemplating either OT or PA school. OT was suggested by a doctor b/c I am a pretty big guy and I would be vauable when dealing with some of the larger patients. I am not sure OT was for me, so I was leaning heavily on going to phlebotomy training and getting my patient hours up while trying to apply for PA school.
