I think there are only about 1 or 2 fraternities left at LSU. And both of them are on probation.
Pretty soon, there won't be any fraternities left on campus so there won't be a choice.

Why did you really join this fraternity - you liked it or they gave you a bid?
Secondly, here's the age old test I used for voting on bids - do I want to sit on a couch next to this guy drinking a beer and watching a game? Kind of a spin on whether or not to hire someone you'd hate sitting next to on a plane.
If you really didn't choose this place, and you really don't like hanging with them, then you've answered your own question. It's not about who's cool at the moment, real friendships take time to develop. If you absolutely don't identify with them, though, it's not going to happen.

It sounds like you don't want to do it, so don't do it IMO.
Working at a restaurant, like someone said on the last page, will get you out meeting new people and restaurant staffs like to party.

Frats aren't for everyone. I decided I wanted out before bid day. Just like you said, Some of the guys are cool, but a lot are not.
You'll have plenty of chances to get laid and make new friends not being in a frat. Look into other clubs that strike your interest.

You're never going to get along with an entire fraternity. Sounds like you have a confidence problem though. Biggest key to getting laid in college (and especially Greek Life women) is confidence and humor. And having a huge dong. And being able to score them blow. But mostly confidence. Which you seem to be lacking.

once you get initiated you cannot ever rush anything else, whether it be at another school or via formal rush at LSU.
We took guys in the spring that slipped through the cracks at fall rush at UofA. Some even rushed the lesser kwown fraternities the previous year because they just didn't know anyone, were from out of state, whatever. Some ended up being pretty cool folks too.
