conspiracy theory: Middle age baw is ready to retire. He makes inflammatory FB post, gets "fired" and the dealership gets to virtue signal.
More likely... boss tells him to delete his FB account, take a two week vacation to the beach, tells this activist that he's fired, and then he's right back at work after vacation.

I'm curious if this REALLY invokes change... that's what this is all about right? Changing perspectives to rid racism.
Does firing someone promote change or would discussions around why things are/aren't inappropriate do that? To me, this only enrages the person of interest more. Now you have someone labeled a racist, jobless, and disgruntled.

Not equal consequences when people doing the cancelling literally have frick all to lose in their worthless fricking lives. They will still get their government check whether that man gets fired or not.

Oh, it invokes change, just nowhere near the type of change they think.

Just another reason to stay off Facebook.
Yep, the fact that you can get fired from a job you've had for 20 years over that is enough reason for me not to have it. There's nothing really bad about that post.

No doubt. I think the Karen snitches are fricking terrible. But you gotta be careful what you do now. You gotta be smart and popping off on Facebook knowing these bottom dwellers are out there waiting to pounce is just dumb.

Why don’t we strike back on these types?
When do we force our lawmakers to have laws that protect against this type of behavior. Harassment, cyber bullying, etc seem like they all would apply.

Business just needs to tell these clowns to frick off and let the market forces decide accordingly
For the right deal, the biggest activist will still buy a Camaro from that dealership

If he can't read the room and see that he shouldn't have made that post I have no sympathy. And those of you that post anonymously here that you can just use your real name. Go for it.
Was the post he made true? The problem seems to be that you cannot be repulsed by the actions of George Floyd's death without making him into a martyr instead of presenting a balanced perspective on Floyd's criminal history. He died while resisting ye tone more arrest for alleged criminal behavior. He was not the random victim of some cop version of the knockout game.
Posters who are over the top on their take on the situation and make it racist deserve no sympathy. Just expressing a valid viewpoint with facts, not speculation and idle rhetoric should not be grounds for termination. While some employers may believe it serves their business to over react to employees who respectfully post an opinion they need to remember they will alienate other potential customers with this kind of response.
But as the protesters would say Who bidness? Dey bidness.

Why isn’t the count’s name that called up the boss included in the post? These people need to be put on blast themselves.

This will be unfortunate but one of these keyboard assassins may get a reality check by some guy that you just wrecked his family. Both are wrong but someone is gonna snap.

How long is going to be before one of these individuals that gets "cancelled" tracks down the perp and goes scorched earth on their arse? I mean if you take away a person's livelihood and means to support family unjustly and for likes on facebook why would you not expect that type of response?

It takes a sick person to take pleasure in ruining someones life over something like this.

I can't for the life of me figure out why Walmart bends to Twitter callouts.
Like those people are going to start going to Whole Foods instead

Why placate to this bitch? It isn't like she knows anyone with enough credit to buy a vehicle.

Is there any stopping the dealer from quietly hiring him back in a couple of months? In the meantime, the former employee can get unemployment.
