Disabled? I know of someone who labeled his kid disabled for a check, and himself, too. Bc they are bipolar. That’s house crap. Talks about how disabled they are. Looks for free stuff bc never “has money,” but sure eats out a lot.

For something like that you would have to have the Presidency, House and Senate...

The poor kids aren't hungry, they're fatter than rich kids. And I'm sure all the bleeding hearts in this thread saw the other thread with this:

Throughout human history, prior to social safety nets, there was a strong correlation between poverty and childhood hunger. Both of my grandpas had some pretty hellacious stories.

Not reading the whole thread.

Trump is covering WIC during the shutdown... so there goes a large part of your argument.

Children make up 39% of SNAP, you said... these kids are getting free breakfast and lunch at school and likely weekend food bags. Literally all a parent has to cover is dinners, that's IT.

The only kids that are going to go hungry belong to shitty parents that probably don't feed them worth a damn anyway.

Community foodbanks exist as do church food pantries. No One Is Going To Starve.

Great point. You can also tell how shitty a school is using free/reduced price lunch participation; it's a better metric than race, etc.

You mean Trump is using tariff money (which is paid by american consumers) to fund a taxpayer funded program? lmao.

WIC funded by the Trump Administration

Is WIC funded? Yes... so you can't use it in this argument.

make food stamps way more like WIC and cut out the crab legs and Little Debbies and soft drinks

This is what they need to do.

I couldve sworn it was way more restrictive about 15/20 years ago.

It should be the essentials like meat, bread, eggs, and fruit, milk, and water.

Fixed it for you boy.

That is unless you and your fellow Dems support using the “nuclear option” in the Senate for this shutdown to just allow a majority instead of 60 to end cloture and allow a vote on the bill in the Senate to continue WIC, food stamp, & the rest of the govt spending just as it was pre-October. Dems tried to implement this option under Biden’s Autopen, but 2 now former Dem Senators stopped the rest of the Dems from doing so.

The poor in this country are far more likely to be 100 pounds overweight than starving to death. The entire premise of such a thing is an absurd democrat fantasy.

Children (Ages 1-5) and Infants typically make up about 70-75% of all WIC participants.
yes because WIC stands for Women, Infant, Children

Women only qualify for WIC if they are pregnant and for 6 months after birth if bottle feeding, and 1 year if breast feeding.

Children only qualify for WIC until age 5 (because then they will be fed at school).

So yes, the majority of people on this program are kids aged 1-5.

However, receiving WIC benefits does not count against food stamps -so many children receive both.

Republicans aren't the reason for this.

They've had years of public outcry of benefit abuse. If it takes this then it is their own doing
