Why would you rally doubt it?

Are service men less prone to mental illness, crimes of passion, etc?

Are you fricking stupid? The demographics are interacting less than civilians with civilians and military with military. If a boat is in dry dock and has the civilian workforce doing maintenance there isn’t much cross between the entities. So when civilians were the ones injured it seemed more likely to me to be another civilian.

Had no idea mental illness could choose the type of person it wanted

So we might as well become jaded to a mass shooting every couple of weeks.

In a country with over 300 million, if we have a story of a shooting once every now and then, i think we are doing good

Oh wait. Chicago has more dead on a nightly basis but let's not stop your narrative

But they don’t happen that frequently. When was the last “mass” shooting?

Depends on how you define it. Does the Nola one count? Besides that there were 3 or 4 in cali and one in oklahoma in the last month or so. I know the oklahoma one was a love triangle or something like that. But the Santa Clarita one was a classic AR15 school shooting which happened the middle of november.I had already forgotten about it too.

But but Hawaii has strict gun control laws. How can this happen?

quote:

Hawaii, with some of the nation’s toughest gun-related laws, keeps a tight rein on gun ownership, registration and use. Hawaii prosecutors report that gun crime levels in the state are relatively low. Hawaii's gun control laws are very similar to federal gun laws. Indeed, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence ranks Hawaii’s gun laws as sixth-best in the country.

Did you read any of the thread? The shooter was a sailor standing an armed watch.

At the time full knowledge of the situation was unknown.

Besides that, what yuh stayed is irrelevant. And stupid.

More likely. Lol

As if you know how shootings happen. That is the point.

Damn that’s crazy. My son is at Ft. Campbell and has pulled guard duty for his unit for December. He was telling me tonight there is a 12 year old missing on post but I would hate to have him dealing with that shite.

When he’s deployed having to kill is one thing. At home way different.

Unknown to who? I am on base and getting all the messages, the 6th post in this was a security alert indicating it was at the dry docks, I.E. civilians refreshing a boat with limited/not a full crew of military as the boat isn’t serviceable. Primarily civilians working with civilians.

You have no fricking clue what you’re talking about and trying to toss out random gotchas.

I was trying to give him an out. There is still the potential that things are inaccurate. And others felt the same way, because of the reported deaths.

Hence the reason I never took him to task for doubting the veracity not your report.

I never doubted a service member could do it. And despite your report he did. Based on his logic.

Wrong. Pretending that there is some logic or way to logic your way to who or why these things happen is dumb.

If you reported it and there was one service member there to 1000 civilians that wouldn’t change my thoughts.

Now remove all the gang-related shootings. Remove all that are domestic disputes. How many were perpetrated with illegally obtained weapons?

This is a prime example of the use of this definition getting out of hand. It counts every single gang shooting as a mass shooting. The murder-suicide in Baton Rouge earlier this year is counted, because it was the same shooter in 2 different places. But it was a domestic dispute.

It's hard to take shite like this seriously when they don't want to tell the whole story.

Yes, the number of "mass shootings" is bad. But paint the whole damn picture before you try to say we need more gun control.
