It’s very rational.

Agreed. If you break into someone's home, 10 years. If you do it again, 30 years. If you shoot someone with intent to harm them 25 years (if they don't die). Do it again, life.

I'd be surprised if a single person in these "groups" doesn't have a violent felony on their record.

That’s a given. Just like the dude who killed his family in Shreveport.

shake my head when people talk about too many people being in jail. We don’t put enough people in jail. It’s time for a mass incarceration and throwing away the key El Salvador style.

And we need to stop making the excuse that “it’s too expensive”.

Well stop making it expensive. Stop giving them 3 hots and a cot in a room with maybe one roommate. Start making them eat gruel twice a day and sleep on barely carpeted floors with cinder blocks for pillows. You make jail worse than the conditions they’re already living in and shite will change. Pile 8 of em in a 10 x 10 room at night with no beds and if they don’t like it, stop doing shite to get them there.

Going to prison needs to be a punishment. A deterrent. Not a damn no cost vacation. You both save tax payer dollars and make crime a less enticing way of life. These thugs currently want to go to prison so they can put it on their resume.

To say they want this kind of thing to happen is a bit hyperbolic, but they don’t care if it happens. They create the environment that allows it to happen, and allows it to keep happening. If their constituents wanted criminals locked up, they would be locked up.

They don’t want it to happen, but even more than that, they never want to acknowledge why it happens because that would require calling out the actual problem and that’s the ultimate third rail in politics.

Friend with kids at Ascension Episcopal said the mom text going around said senior girl died. I know it’s been said, but just sharing.

fricking horrific.

You aren’t supposed to die at the food court in the mall in a hail of bullets on a Thursday in the middle of the day.

I don’t know how you get the ghetto trash out of that mall without offending at least 13% of the people but if they don’t the big retailers will be gone in less than five years. It will have to close down The people that go there to spend money will stop going
