Achieving peace and tranquility

For those of you who have grasped this, what have you done and/or have taken?
My work life is rooted on conflict. Every detail, big or small, is disputed or argued over. It is unnerving and incessant. I get little satisfaction over a "win" or a "job well done" because, again, everything is rooted in conflict. I have a hard time separating myself from work due to the fact that there is always something to do. Unfortunately, I can't "unplug" or turn away from the phone + emails too long, as I come back to an insane amount to sift through - ultimately causing more worry.
Any tips or suggestions to find personal peace and to counteract anxiety? Religion? Pharmaceuticals? Exercise? What tips do you have, if any?

2. Eat well
3. Go outside
4. Serve others over yourself.

Quit work and live off the government.
Total tranquility.
Total tranquility.

Find another job
You cannot let your job take over your life, you are nothing but an employee to your employer
When shite hits the fan they take care of themselves first
I learned this lesson & left
My life is 100 times better & I took a pay cut to get away
If you can’t quit you have to make time to get away some (even if it’s 30 minutes of walking outside), if you don’t you will end up dead from a heart attack or stroke

Thank you. This is good advice.

That's what I'm afraid of. Truthfully.
The other week, I was at home watching NetFlix. Out of the blue, I felt this huge rush of malaise and anxiety rush over me. While I don't think it was a panic attack (or a full blown one at least), I felt my heart rate increase, I had difficulty focusing, my arms instantaneously felt weak and wobbly. It was, obviously, concerning. I've never had that before.

I’m very experienced with panic attacks. They take different forms, but this sounds like one to me. I’d see a professional if I were you.

I negotiate and mediate self important people through high stakes situations. It’s impossible to turn off the intensity at the door, but I couldn’t work any other type of job. I like the pain.
1. I smoke a lot of marijuana to calm down.
2. I took email off my phone 5 years ago and never looked back. I probably only open 85% of my email. If they don’t ask twice, it’s not that important.
3. I accept that most people aren’t nearly as intense as I am and that I need to operate accordingly.

Screw that.
Minimize, individualize and simplify. Look into some zen philosophy.

Yes being a lawyer sucks

It may be as simple as removing the unnamed malignant narcissist from your life. Then proceeding peacefully and tranquilly. Or finding a job that doesn’t cause this internal conflict. Or just having a friend you call every day to release the daily tension.

Some repeats, but here is my approach:
Exercise and sleep
Eliminate (where possible) those things that impede sleep and tranquility
Stay within my grateful zone (ie, amazement of life in general (too easy to take for granted), health, family, etc). Anything else is just noise.
Recognize your choice in the matter (ie, stress is a choice...if you can pick it up then you can put it back down...and you should)
Quit watching the politically slanted news.
Last but not least, Maker's Mark (kidding...sort of).

I just went back to a job that pays considerably less for my peace of mind.

What type of job is this? Is the conflict inside your company or with customers/clients?

There are other types of law, Bud. Life is too short for constant stress/conflict.
