Yesterdays numbers were for around 30 hours. I cannot wait to see how they compare to today's.

And for the record, I'm not necessarily shitting on other parishes. A huge percentage of BR's economy is government, higher education, and professional services. Most of those people can work from home and still get a paycheck. Another large portion is petrochemical manufacturing, which is donning protective gear anyway and is mostly still at work. It didn't crush the local economy to ask for voluntary work from home. The groups that are really hurting are hotels and restaurants, but the city seems to have made a concerted effort to support the restaurants via take out as best we can. Combine that with Baton Rouge (along with places like Lafayette, Slidell, Lake Charles, etc) having more medical capacity than we usually need because of being a hub, and we are weathering the early stages well.
So in short, I'm utterly sympathetic to parishes that were more resistant because a shutdown would mean they basically starve.

Why don't they release the hospital numbers like the other state are doing if its so bad?

What should we be doing differently?
That's not for me to figure out, but the state is suffering and is going to continue to. The people there will suffer from the selfish, or just dumb choices made by its elected leaders.
Louisiana is last in almost everything except college football. The citizens, including my family will be tested for that and I hate that.

I feel like he won't because they don't support his narrative. He has no problem telling everyone we are Italy but he won't show us why he thinks that. If he cared about causing panic he wouldn't say We are going to be Italy.

Just wait and see the spike....you havent seen anything yet
there will be cases. there will be deaths. that's not the point
overrunning medical facilities has always been the focus. that is, apparently, already a concern in OP/JP
i thought EBR would face similar issues but they seemed to have handled business and aren't on the same trajectory

They are getting people to self police their quarantine by inciting fear. The tactic works. Whether it is ethical or not; use your own judgement.

how do you know whats going on in Baton Rouge hospitals? Do you know someone that works in admissions?

Well they either dont fit or they are horrible and he doesnt want to incite panic.

Why not provide it? We dont need to be protected from the raw data.
Exactly, if it is that bad tell us the numbers this is based on, especially if you want people to take these things seriously.
Not providing it just makes it look like they're doing something shifty.

When does it become acceptable to make a thread with reporting predictions?

I am sure the attendance in Mobile and New Orleans for Mardi Gras are comparable.............

BR hospitals are seeing more patients. No where near like Nola ones though.
Obvious statement, but how it was described to me by someone working in both.

If it's this bad why hasn't he shut down the Bridges and block I-10 exits to everyone but essential personnel only?
Some of y'all think this is NBD.
Some of y'all think we should be locking down interstates.
The O-T is a diverse group, that's for sure.
