Ironically, most of the baws on here love the El Camino.
You know why...

My old man got one last year. Has not been happy with it at all. One issue with air flow/sound when at high speeds and Honda says nothing they can do about it.

That is a complaint all across the Honda brand.

It’s the most American truck manufactured today.
The fact that they let some yokels in Tennessee or whatever do the final screwing-together does not make a car American, in my opinion.
Personally I don't give a crap- my car was made in Japan. But the notion that a Mercedes made in Tuscaloosa or a Kia made in Georgia is American is just wrong.

I’m probably in the minority, but I really liked the last gen version. I do not like this new one though

Does better at a boat ramp than 2WD truck and you can lock your purse out of site in the trunk

I think you and your wife have shite taste.

Never heard of anyone or myself having trouble at a boat ramp because 2wd.
4x4s are not that common where I live but owning a and towing a boat sure is.

Does her boyfriend Tyrone like it too?

Buncha truck nut clutchin' mofo's in here. You boys sure do worry about what y'all look like in your truck, more than anything else. I've had more freakin' Silverados than I can count...a Nissan Frontier...two Colorados...and a GMC Canyon. Sooner or later, most of them disappointed me. It's reliable, rides well, has plenty enough towing power for my boat (pulls it better than any other truck I've had), gets better gas mileage (23.5 combined), and was $10K cheaper than the other pickups I looked at. So at the end of the day, the main con is YOU BOYS don't think it's a real truck. OK, maybe it's not
. But it checks everything else on my list, so haters can blow me.

It's an SUV with an open trunk. They're expensive but do last a long time.

That is not a truck.

I’m getting a 2020 Tacoma,Ridgeline would be my 2’nd choice-very nice truck.
In case you were wondering what it was like to be a guy going to nursing school in the early 70’s,this thread will give you an idea.

Why does what your wife like have anything to do with what you drive? Did you like her Accord (assuming) when she bought it? Rest my case. Buy a real truck
Posted on 10/15/19 at 6:22 pm to deathvalleyfreak43
It's a great vehicle. But it's not a truck. It's a CRV with a bed.
Posted on 10/15/19 at 6:23 pm to deathvalleyfreak43
Don't let the haters get you down! The Honda Ridgeline has unsurpassed towing capacity of 1500 pounds and not many trucks can claim this.
Posted on 10/15/19 at 6:26 pm to deathvalleyfreak43
Frankly it's your money and if you like it buy it.
It probably won't suck. Honda makes good stuff.
It's not my taste, but then again I like regular body on frame trucks.

Looks like a modern-day El Camino.
