It's nice and refined like most Hondas, but it is not a "real" truck. It's a unibody vehicle, not a body on frame like a "truck."

Shake the haters. I had a 1st Gen that has 320k miles and still going back in the hands of my parents 13years later.
For most people, it serves the need of what most people do with a truck. (Haul mulch in the spring time). Smooth ride since it's a unibody and all the creature comforts. I personally don't like the look but the rest is good.

Car and Driver listed it their #1 mid-size truck. Saw the article via social media just yesterday. Mentioned that front wheel drive would put off potential buyers.
From what I remember listed the Chevy #2, the GMC #3, forget 4, Ford Ranger #5, Taco #6 and Nissan 7.
Taco was #6 simply because the inside is more utilitarian, less electronics and more plastic in there.
ETA: just saw it in the other thread: Jeep Gladiator #4.
