This cracks me up.
May want to warn the Japanes then as their practically gun free country has a suicide rate that is multiple of ours.
Suggestive like bemoaning new gun owners with "statistics" then admitting that those "statistics" aren't proven.
Anybody want to actually read what really is the first legitimate book on gun ownership and defensive uses pick up Point Blank by Dr Gary Kleck. If you want to know why you hear about 2.4 million defensive gun uses (dgu) a year and how 98% of defensive gun uses just involves producing a firearms sending the threat running, its all there.

Multiple studies have linked the density of gun-owning households in counties, states and countries to the incidence of gun-related injuries and death. People with ready access to a firearm are almost twice as likely to be killed and three times more likely to commit suicide than those without such access, according to a 2014 study in Annals of Internal Medicine.

Such findings fall short of establishing a cause-and-effect relationship between gun ownership and injury risk. But they are suggestive.

Californians bought new guns and changed the way they stored their firearms in a bid to counter the unrest, government crackdowns and societal disintegration they feared would be unleashed by the public health emergency,

There are 4.7M republicans in California.
California s very misunderstood state, hunting is big in California, they have so much public land available for hunting and other outdoor sports compared to Louisiana it is probably more deserving of the “Sportmans Paradise “ than Louisiana. Unfortunately, the state is politically defined by the Los Angeles, and San Francisco areas.

How many are new gun owners? That’s the scary part. These people weren’t raised to respect guns and that makes a massive difference. You can be as responsible as you want until you actually have to use it
