First 48 doesn't have meth heads, hot blonde cops, and the goodest of good boys

It’s really mind boggling the kind of chances some of these large companies and organizations are taking attempting to support ideas that the majority of their potential market doesn’t support or isn’t in favor of. Hopefully seeing companies lose and struggle will show customers that they actually can have an impact by not watching, buying or supporting companies that advocate ideas that those customers don’t agree with.
If you’re a business owner or even if you’re not, if you can just do simple math, it’s pretty obvious, which would you rather target, 300 million potential customers or 14 million potential customers? Without regard to race, whether the 14 million are white, black, tan, olive, yellow or any mix of those colors, it’s just better business sense to appeal to 300 million than 14 million.

Good. They need to bring live PD back

But it was so worth it. Now all of the execs and advertisers are so much more saaaaaafe and so much more comfortable.

So fricking stupid. They could have laid low for a month or so then come back and sold it like here we are showing the positive side of policing and the interaction of police with people of all races, colors, and creeds.
Or they could lose their minds, run around like chickens with heads cut off and CANCEL! CANCEL! CANCEL!
Whichever works for them.

A&E should have listened to the lyrics from TOOL - Vicarious.
People will publicly act like showing police work is violent and shows cities in a bad light, but they watch it in private because deep down it's what we all want to see -- it's entertaining. Cancel what's entertaining and people will stop watching your channel.

Eye on the TV 'cause tragedy thrills me, whatever flavor it happens to be . . . it's no fun until someone dies.
Don't look at me like I am a monster, frown out your one face, but with the other stare like a junkie into the TV, stare like a zombie.
'Cause I need to watch things die (from a distance), Vicariously I live while the whole world dies.
You all need it too, don't lie. Why can't we just admit it?

Watched live pd every week. Hadn’t turned on that channel a single time since they canceled. Nothing else on there Interests us.

Hopefully everyone that works there loses their jobs, becomes homeless, and end up getting arrested on the next version of Live PD

SEC network. The bigger conferences have something like that.

a sign of how much the network relies on law-enforcement programming.

In the entertainment industry, Mr. Floyd’s death has led to discussions about the role television and movies play in shaping perceptions of law enforcement and whether portrayals of police have been too one-sided and have failed to address concerns about excessive force and bad policing.

Hard to do a live cop show from the perspective of anyone but the cop.
The fact that people were legitimately angry that this show didn’t paint police as the reprehensible lunatics that they want them to be is more alarming than A&E canceling it.
