AAA Roadside Assistance Question?

Money well spent.

I have it and I guess it depends on where you are when you need it. I once sat on the side if the road between Marksville and New Roads for 3 hours while AAA tried to find someone to help me with a messed up tire. Finally called someone in the area to recommend a local tire shop and called them on my own for help. My local garage said that AAA has trouble finding anybody in some areas who is willing to accept their underpayment.

I have used it more for discounts at hotels, etc. I believe I have used it twice for vehicles - one lock out and one stuck vehicle.

My daughter is away at college so I consider it extra insurance if she requires mechanical assistance while away.

I’ve used my insurance roadside assistance a few times and it’s always been great. Can’t imagine needing AAA.

I don't have AAA, but have roadside assistance through my insurance.

I highly recommend having some kind of roadside assistance, regardless of where it's from. Dead battery? They'll come jump the car. If the car won't run, they'll send a wrecker to try to get the car running (Check battery, fuel, simple reasons a car won't run) and then tow you to a shop if that doesn't work. That alone is worth it. Tows are expensive.

If you use it because you ran out of gas or need a flat tire changed, you probably should've just called your husband to handle that, Nancy.

Do y’all think using roadside assistance through insurance affects your rates? I have it through Geico, and have used it a couple times in the past 5 years with my former car. I like having it, but wasn’t sure if using it impacts rates.

I used to have Roadside assistance through my cell phone plan with AT&T. i used them twice with no complaints at all. It was only $2/month too. Not bad at all.
