A Spouse’s Weight Gain Could Affect Your Sex Life

I remember when I got downvoted on this board by all the fatties on here that I would never tolerate it if a wife/GF got fat when I work too hard to keep my body in strong lean shape.

It would be strong grounds for a breakup and divorce if they didn't lose the weight.

Losers is what they are.

Hilarious all those fatties think they're such a handsome catch getting a lot of women.

one of my high school buddies just finalized his divorce from his (now ex)wife over this exact thing. Told me he just couldn't be with a woman who let herself go. FTR, I haven't seen her since she had the baby so I can't judge. But I have to say, inasmuch as they have a son together, it seems a pretty petty and shallow excuse to end a marriage over.

I'd respect him more if he just said, I don't love her and want to go a separate way.

If it was the other way around with the dude staying fit and the woman putting on weight, and the man said he was grossed out by her, would this count as a #MeToo?

Post this exact article with the genders flipped and you would see outrage of epic proportions.

quote:

Fast-forward 10 years. At 41, Danny remains slender. But Liz, 46, is no longer the lean, sexy, model type he fell for. Now, he says, her 5-ft.-7-inch frame is “more than a little fleshy and mushy” and the weight gain is a turnoff. So much so, he’s found himself uninterested in sleeping with her. He’s unhappy; She’s growing more resentful.

“It’s hard to admit but she’s simply not attractive to me any more,” he says. “I’m turned off by her belly fat and love handles.”

“It’s kind of symbolic of the way she feels about our relationship,” he says. “I have refused to have sex with her on several occasions.”

When women gain weight and become physically unattractive to their partner, “what usually happens is the man takes it much more as a sign that she doesn’t love him. Men tend to personalize things,” Mary Jo Rapini, a psychotherapist who specializes in intimacy and sexuality

Kurt says Sabine (names changed) began piling on the pounds 18 months into their three-year relationship.

“I’m not sure if it was because she was getting too comfortable or because her adolescent skinny girl metabolism was just growing into middle-aged fat woman metabolism. Regardless, she was getting bigger and not in a good way…

Keep myself in decent shape as does the old lady, but the “refused to have sex with him” part better never happen. I’ll go Rhett Butler own her arse and seek pleasures elsewhere.

Just because women have a tough time listening to and processing the truth doesn't mean that men have to act like broads.

Would he have married her, or even simply dated her if she was fat when they first met?

What about the exact opposite? Let's say I have this friend whose husband has gotten very serious about cycling the past couple of years and has dropped a ton of weight. He's tall and now has that super skinny Ichabod Crane look It's not a good look and I can't imagine it feels good. She complains about it nonstop, but won't mention it to him.

I know it's not the issue at hand, but the hair on that dude in the picture is a WAY bigger turn off than his belly. Yuck
