that's sort of required, among other things, isn't it?

Just to pick a nit here, MCT oil is made from coconut oil, but isn't actually coconut oil.
Which is awesome, because I can't stand the taste of coconut oil, but can get all the benefits by using MCT.
I know but if i just said mct oil people would be like wtf
as far as butter goes, use grass fed.

The argument that correlation is not indicative of causation is a valid argument but I don’t see any other way to do dietary studies on humans.Study large populations and their dietary habits,if one finds frequent cases of cardiovascular disease and cancer,it would seem reasonable to decide that population’s diet is not healthy.
That is not a reasonable conclusion. It's a hypothesis at best. Reasonable would be to begin to eliminate other possible causes reducing the number of variables until one could narrow the list of correlatives. Then study those individually to see if any one of them alone correlated to the health outcomes described.
We know that pollution can cause cancer. We also know that long-term inflammation of the cardiovascular system which can also be caused by pollution leads to cardiovascular disease. Placing the blame on the individual for their diet reduces the drive for changes to an industrial system that is literally poisoning us.

Jesus Christ, the effect of any pollution on overall health on the average US citizen is almost nil.
The effects of their on diet and environmental choices the average us citizen makes 100% effects health.
Please tell with studies showing where pollution is effecting health. Otherwise you are talking out your arse. Can pollution effect health? Absolutely, but in 99% of locals in the US this is not the case. Hell even in heavily industrialized areas that are the so called cancer alley like river parishes and swla, it is not an issue.
Personal lifestyle choices, most notably obesity, diet, exercise, tobacco use, and alcohol consumption make up 90-95% of our health that we can control. Genetics is another issue in and of itself.
Pollution is of very very little concern when speaking of health for most people. Even those that work in industry, if they follow proper procedures, are exposed to very little.
Stop making excuses!!!!

Oh look, yet another idiot who wants to put blame on anything but the individual's choices.
We have a morbidly obese population in this country, with rampant diabetes. "Industrial pollution" has dick-all to do with it.

From the comment section of that article
Damage is already done, and another tactic was chosen long ago.

“The evidence is too weak to justify telling individuals to eat less beef and pork” excuse me? the damage the meat industry does to the earth, it’s impact on climate change, is only second to the US military’s devastating impact on climate change. If people don’t stop eating a significant amount of meat my generation will be the last. HOW DARE YOU tell people the “evidence is too weak to justify telling individuals to eat less beef and pork.”

I'll sum that deranged comment up as "If it weren't for the United States, this planet would live hand in hand in peace, love, and harmony. Because reasons you fricking bigot."

Overlay a map of pollution, poverty, and obesity.
Just because you think there's an acceptable level of pollution, doesn't mean the rest of us want to live in filthy conditions. And if it's so great, they should build that factory next to their private golf course next time.

You sir are a dumbass using simple correlation to try and prove your point.
So you are telling me because one lives close to an industrial site, that makes them fat? What proof do you have of this? How does it make one poor to live near a business like an industrial facility. What is the causation?
You can Google tons of studies on poverty and obesity. Also how both relate to education.
In this day and age nobody is forced to live anywhere. Nobody is forced to make bad educational decisions. Nobody can claim they didn't know as far as diet goes when the information is at your finger tips.

That is fine, are you willing to give up cars, electricity (or allow nuclear to be built) give up all plastics and the like? Cause if not STFU. Our modern Life is made possible by those industrial facilities.
And if you want to blame them bring proof. Bring the samples that have tested for levels that are affecting people. Prove it.
Otherwise you are making excuses. I could overlay the map like you said and once I accounted for obesity, tobacco use, lack of exercise, alcohol use and overall lifestyle choices, it would be very hard to say pollution had any effect on overall health.
